Obstetric outcomes after medroxyprogesterone acetate treatment for early stage endometrial cancer or atypical endometrial hyperplasia: a single hospital-based study
ConclusionPregnancy after MPA therapy is associated with a high risk of placenta accreta. In cases in which the frequency of D&C is high, placenta accreta should be considered. (Source: International Journal of Clinical Oncology)

Isolated growth hormone deficiency and amenorrhea - Case report
CONCLUSION: IGHD rarely presents with a gynaecological complaint. Hormonal and genetic tests along with imaging should be undertaken. Growth hormone supplementation is the treatment of choice.PMID:36582894 | PMC:PMC9793238 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2022.104909 (Source: Annals of Medicine)

The hormonal environment and estrogen receptor signaling alters Chlamydia muridarum infection in vivo
In this study, we used ovariectomized (OVT) BALB/c mice to investigate the impact of long-term administration of physiologically relevant concentrations of estrogen (E2), progesterone (P4), or a combination of E2/P4 on the progression of and immune response to C. muridarum infection. Additionally, we used ERα and ERβ knockout C57/BL6 mice to determine the how ERs affect chlamydial infection and the resulting immune response. Estrogen exposure prevented C. muridarum infection in vaginally infected OVT mice exposed to E2 alone or in combination with P4, while OVT or Sham mice exposed to hormone free, P4 or depo-medroxyprog...

Contraceptive exposure associates with urinary tract infection risk in a cohort of reproductive-age women: a case control study
CONCLUSION: This study notes potential for a small increase in UTIs with contraceptive use. Prospective studies are required before this information is applied in clinical settings.CONDENSATION: Although non-barrier contraception is commonly prescribed, the risk of urinary tract infections (UTI) with contraceptive exposure is poorly understood. This large-cohort, case-control study notes potential for a small increase in UTIs with contraceptive use.PMID:36537554 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2022.2156278 (Source: The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care)
