Coming back to California after out of state OMFS residency
Hello, I am matriculating into a 6 year program outside of California, however, I have plans to return. I've passed WREBS and have applied to take the law and ethics exam to get licensed in California. My question is: Should I keep an active license for the duration of my training outside of California? Or do I wait until I finish my program to apply for licensure? Should I take the law and ethics exam now vs later? If there are any residents with experience in this matter, advice would... Submitting post-doc hours to board of psychology before post-doc finishes?
I REALLY wanted to get licensed ASAP after my post doc (in CA). I already have my 1500 hours, and only 2 more weeks of my post-doc. My question is, can I submit my hours to the Board of Psychology before my end date, or do I have to wait until my post-doc official ends? The sooner I submit my hours, the sooner I can take the CA Law and Ethics exam. On one of the supervised professional experience forms that was completed on day 1 of post-doc, it asks for the "anticipated end date", and i'm... Having issues with administration at a college counseling center - advice appreciated.
I'm a licensed clinical psychologist and I work at a large university counseling center on the east coast. My organization is housed within the student healthcare building, but we are two separate organizations. Unfortunately, the physicians in Student Health don't think so, nor does the university administration. This has created a whole host of problems and a lot of stress on my staff, and I'm looking for recommendations and advice on how to handle this situation. As any ethical... Goro's guide to applying to med school (2018 version)
So application season is upon us once again. I have some tips for you. Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair. What do we Adcoms look for? People who will make good doctors and who will be good students. But to be the former, you have to be the latter. Evidence for doing well in med school is evidenced by an applicant with above average grades and MCAT score, evidence of a good work ethic, strong time management skills, reasonable expectations of what it means to have a career in... going out on a date with a patient you've had on rotations?
Already know it's not ok for doctors to date their patients, but does the same ethical principle also apply to medical students on rotations? Can't seem to find anything about this online, unless it's just that the same principles apply. Ethical question
I’m a post-doctoral fellow, and I have an ethical concern regarding another fellow. She’s engaging in daily substance use, and on at least one occasion used substances in her office at work. In short, all of her peers are worried about her, yet none of the supervisors (who are both clinically astute, and excellent supervisors) appear to share these concerns. In fact, they often comment on her efficiency and speak very highly of her clinical abilities. They are not aware of her substance use... Ethical question (Source: Student Doctor Network)
