What would you do in this ethical scenario?
Michael tells you that he wants to take a "Spanish 101" course to boost his GPA even though he is a native Spanish speaker. Native speakers are not allowed to take the course by school policy. What do you do? (This scenario is from PrepMatch.com, the free peer-to-peer CASPer preparation platform that allows you to practice hundreds of scenarios for free. Goro's Guide to the Application Process (2022 edition)
So, application season is upon us once again. I have some tips for you. Grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair. What do we Adcoms look for? People who will make good doctors and will be good students. But to be the former, you have to be the latter. Evidence for doing well in med school is evidenced by an applicant with above average grades and MCAT score, evidence of a good work ethic, strong time management skills, reasonable expectations of what it means to have a career in medicine... Directing letter writers?
I was speaking with a co-resident and they were mentioning how they are email all of their letter writers for letters and directing/asking them to speak on certain traits on their behalf. Is this normal or stand practice when asking for letters? I.E- asking 1 to speak on work ethic, another on medical knowledge, etc.? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Diversity Essay Covered on Personal Statement
Hi I'm choosing between diversity essays, and want to avoid a major faux pas here. One major answer to "what makes me interesting" I think has to do with my work as a volunteer in prison, which help develop my ethical code around treating people fairly regardless of their past actions. After working with the incarcerated I want to have a job that is ethically unable to discriminate based on background, which drew me to medicine. My concerns are. a. This isn't necessarily unique, that's... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ethics/Philosophy Class or Computer Science Class
Hello! Having some trouble with class identification on the AMCAS. I have one class that is listed under the computer science department, but the entire class was actually on ethics of computer science, and the name of the class says so as well "Ethical Issues in Computing", so logically, I'm thinking of putting it down as a philosophy class. However, people have said to stick to the transcript, and in my transcript, the class is "CS ### Ethical Issues in Computing". So, they still put it... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Apply early decision MD while accepted DO
More of an ethical question. I had to turn down OOS MD acceptance for unexpected family reasons but have an in-state DO acceptance that starts in late July. I really want to go to the local MD school (which is less competitive than the OOS one I was accepted to) but applied late last year. If I reapply early decision to that 1 school this week (will have result by 8/1) is this professional suicide? Do I be upfront and tell them I really want to apply to only them? Or do it secretly? I do... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
