Help with a diversity essay topic
@Goro @Faha @LizzyM @gonnif I am a straight white male, so my diversity topic ideas all stem from experiences. 1. I got a second bachelor's in philosophy because I really loved aspects of it such as culture/ethics/debate/argumentation and critical thinking. 2. Pretty extensive clinical experience as an ED tech. ~6000 hours. I've been on the care team for just about every possible race/ethnicity/SES/sexual... Have I been punked!? ExamEdge practice EPPP tests...
I'm starting to study for the EPPP, and have just purchased a bundle of Exam Edge practice EPPP tests for a steal. I thought the price was too good to be true, but what the hell? I'm afraid I was right, because I just passed my very first practice EPPP test (74/100 or a score of 534). This is NOT good news. I brushed up on the ethics study guide for a few hours, have not studied in any way at all. I should not be getting a passing score! I took a practice test a year ago w/Psych Review, and... Help me choose a Diversity Essay topic!!!
Hello everyone! Title says it all. Currently my ideas for the diversity essay are: 1) Hobby route: I am super passionate about weightlifting and nutrition. Can talk about how weightlifting has improved my work ethic and/or how they both tie into my desire to do preventive-oriented healthcare. -Concern: might sound too trivial for diversity? 2) I can easily see two sides of an issue/argument, and do not vilify people with dissenting viewpoints because I know that their views do not... Restarting research
Have been a little surprised about the lack of ethics conversations being had about this issue right now, so thought I would post to start one here. Curious to hear about people's thoughts on research in the present climate and how your respective institutions are handling things. We have largely been closed aside from studies with imminent life-saving health benefits (generally not psychiatry/psychology - think "We won't stop your experimental chemotherapy"). We're now in the process of... Restarting research (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Performance Status required for CSI
I have a 35 yo male who is not doing well after posterior fossa surgery/infections/hydrocephalus for adult medulloblastoma. He is trached, nonverbal, has a decubitus ulcer, fevers, and a KPS probably of 20-30. He needs CSI 36 Gy and boost. He is barely following commands 30+ days from surgery and very slowly improving. I am torn ethically about what to do. Any guidance or thoughts on when to initiate radiation if ever? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Do bad evals from a specialty you're switching out of matter for the new one?
I'm transferring from radiology to psych in 3 weeks and I got two very bad anonymous reviews (like 1/5, strongly disagree, etc) from my radiology program (not sure if co-resident or attending) about my knowledge base, work ethic, they wouldn't want to work with me on call, etc. My knowledge base is definitely lacking due to being uninterested in radiology and hence why I'm transferring. Not sure where the work ethic comments are coming from. They're anonymous evals and I wonder if they're... Do bad evals from a specialty you're switching out of matter for the new one? Psychology professional identity and relation to master's-level fields
Hi all, Some wanted a thread on this--how do psychologists relate to masters-level fields that originated in psychology but are increasingly seeing themselves as and being seen as distinct fields that are separate from psychology, with their own accrediting bodies, licensing boards, ethics codes, and professional organizations? I'm thinking of fields where master's degrees are the primary degree for license/practice--counseling, ABA, and MFT come to mind as big ones (I'd argue that social...
