Colostrum Antibodies and Cytokines in Puerperal Women with Diabetes Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSION: It was possible to conclude that diabetes changes the immunological composition of breast milk; however, data on the impact of the association between gestational diabetes and Covid-19 infection on the composition of antibodies and cytokines present in human milk are still scarce and inconclusive.PMID:36960646 | DOI:10.2174/1573399818666220426084902 (Source: Current Diabetes Reviews)

Phase Angle Is A Prognostic Nutritional Marker On The Waiting List And After Liver Transplantation: A Cutoff Value.
Rationale: Pre liver transplantation (LT) assessment of nutritional status and functionality has gained relevance given its prognostic implications; phase angle (PhA), is a nutritional marker derived from bioelectrical impedance, useful for outpatients, hospitalized and critical care patients. We aimed to evaluate the association between PhA and the development of pre and post LT complications, and to obtain a specific cutoff value for this stage. (Source: Clinical Nutrition ESPEN)

Stem cell induction and plant regeneration are affected by medium components in maca (Lepidium meyenii Walp)
CONCLUSION: Based on our results, the best medium for inducing callus was Hormone 2,4-D [2 µM] and Kinetin [0.5 µM], in which the highest percentage of callus induction was in leaf explants (62%). And the lowest were in stem (30%) and root (27%) explants. According to the comparison of the mean, the best environment for regeneration of the environment was 4 µM 6-Benzylaminopurine 2.5 + Thidiazuron, in which the highest percentage of regeneration was in leaf explant (87%) and stem (69%) and the lowest in root explant (12). %).PMID:36899280 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-023-08319-2 (Source: Molecular Biology Reports)

Predictors of success/failure in the control of asthmatic smoking patients under conditions of clinical practice
CONCLUSION: Asthmatic patients with active tobacco exposure and a higher number of anti-asthma medications are more likely to have poorer control. Correct adherence to treatment is the main intervention to be performed to achieve the control. An eosinophil count greater than 300 was the main predictor for achieving control. Fluticasone propionate/formoterol FP/FORM was associated with a greater likelihood of improving ACQ score.PMID:36847640 | DOI:10.1080/02770903.2023.2185153 (Source: Journal of Asthma)

Macamide B suppresses lung cancer progression potentially via the ATM signaling pathway
In conclusion, macamide B inhibits lung cancer progression by inhibiting cell proliferation and invasion, and inducing apoptosis. Furthermore, macamide B may participate in regulating the ATM signaling pathway. The present study provides a potential new natural drug for treating patients with lung cancer.PMID:36844627 | PMC:PMC9950334 | DOI:10.3892/ol.2023.13701 (Source: Oncology Letters)
