The impact of Parkinson's disease severity on performance of activities of daily living: an observational study
CONCLUSIONS: The severity of PD is closely related to the impairment of functional skills measured with the AMPS scale in non-demented PD patients. A strong correlation was found with the motor skills. A strong correlation was found between the AMPS process skills scale and Schwab and England ADL scale. A weak correlation was found between the AMPS motor scale and disease duration. The AMPS scale might be a useful tool to monitoring the PD progression through the observation of ADL performance.PMID:37046393 | DOI:10.33588/rn.7608.2022263 (Source: Revista de Neurologia)

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 5433: Time Perspective Latent Profile Analysis and Its Meaning for School Burnout, Depression, and Family Acceptance in Adolescents
This study aimed to apply latent profile analysis (LPA) to (a) empirically identify adolescents’ profiles based on their time perspective (TP), using a person-centered approach; (b) outline the identified profiles across student burnout, depression, and perceived family acceptance; and (c) establish differences between pre-COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 students. Cross-sectional data were collected through an online survey of 668 adolescents. The participants completed the Kutcher Adolescent Depression Scale (KADS), Student School Burnout Scale (SSBS), Time Perspective Inventory (TPI), and Perceived Family Accept...

Identification and characterization of potential probiotic lactic acid bacteria isolated from pig feces at various production stages
Can J Vet Res. 2023 Apr;87(2):127-145.ABSTRACTLactic acid bacteria (LAB) were isolated, identified, and characterized from pig feces at various growth stages and feed rations in order to be used as probiotic feed additives. Lactic acid bacteria numbers ranged from 7.10 ± 1.50 to 9.40 log CFUs/g for growing and lactating pigs, respectively. Isolates (n = 230) were identified by (GTG)5-polymerase chain reaction and partial sequence analysis of 16S rRNA. Major LAB populations were Limosilactobacillus reuteri (49.2%), Pediococcus pentosaceus (20%), Lactobacillus amylovorus (11.4%), and L. johnsonii (8.7%). In-vitro assays wer...
