Liposarcoma of tongue: A case report
Indian J Pathol Microbiol. 2023 Nov 9. doi: 10.4103/ijpm.ijpm_448_23. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLiposarcoma (LS) is one of the most common malignant tumors. However, oral LS is an extremely rare lesion that is often clinically misdiagnosed as a benign lesion because of its asymptomatic and indolent clinical course. In oral cavity, the tongue is the most frequent site for its occurrence.PMID:38394426 | DOI:10.4103/ijpm.ijpm_448_23 (Source: Indian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology)

Primary liposarcoma of the uterus with MDM2 negative
We report a 37-year-old woman presented with lower abdominal discomfort and increase in vaginal secretions for more than 2 months. The ultrasonography revealed a hypoechoic mass sized 81 × 73 × 67 mm in the right adnexal area. Histopathologically, the neoplasm was mainly composed of mature adipose tissue, a small number of scattered lipoblasts, and the spindle cell which with mild atypia. Immunohistochemistry showed that the tumor cells were positive for CDK4 but negative for MDM2, and FISH analysis showed no MDM2 amplification. The patient only underwent tumor excision and is currently doing well.PMID:38394412 | DOI:10....

Comparing Multivisceral Resection with Tumor-only Resection of Liposarcoma Using the Win Ratio
CONCLUSIONS: Based on win-ratio assessments of a hierarchical composite endpoint, multivisceral resection in patients without adjacent tumor involvement may not confer improved outcomes. This method supports the rationale for less invasive resection of LPS in select patients, especially older patients.PMID:38347333 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-024-14985-8 (Source: Ann Oncol)

Giant retroperitoneal myolipoma mimicking liposarcoma: report of a resected case and review of the literature
AbstractMyolipomas are rare tumors that are often difficult to differentiate from liposarcoma. Herein, we report a case of resected giant myolipoma preoperatively diagnosed as liposarcoma. A 63-year-old woman was suspected of having a large retroperitoneal liposarcoma on October 202X. The patient was referred to our department for tumor resection and a histological diagnosis. After consultation with the urology, obstetric and gynecology, and vascular surgery departments, tumor resection was planned, including the potential resection of other organs. Intraoperative findings revealed a large, elastic, soft tumor with a smoot...

Immune characteristics of dedifferentiated retroperitoneal liposarcomas and the reliability of regional samples in evaluating their tumor immune microenvironments
Tumor immunotherapy is a new treatment breakthrough for retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RPLS), which is highly invasive and has few effective treatment options other than tumor resection. However, the heterogenei... (Source: World Journal of Surgical Oncology)
