MDM2 FISH testing criteria in adipose tissue tumors with mature adipocytic morphology - A resection case-based study
In conclusion, we recommend MDM2 FISH for: 1. superficial cases with marginal infiltration based on adequate margin sampling; 2. all intramuscular tumors, retroperitoneal/pelvic tumors and recurrent tumors, both in resection cases and biopsy cases.PMID:38134838 | DOI:10.1016/j.prp.2023.155039 (Source: Pathology, Research and Practice)

Analysis of recurrence and metastasis patterns and prognosis after complete resection of retroperitoneal liposarcoma
ConclusionComplete resection remains the most effective method to treat retroperitoneal liposarcoma. Patients with pathological types of retroperitoneal liposarcoma showing dedifferentiation, pleomorphism, mixed type, and high Ki67 expression should be closely monitored and observed after complete resection, especially for imaging changes in the primary tumor area. Preoperative assessment of retroperitoneal Liposarcoma using volume-based 18F-FDG PET/CT: implications for surgical strategy and prognosis
Retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RLPS) poses a challenging scenario for surgeons due to its unpredictable biological behavior. Surgery remains the primary curative option for RLPS; however, the need for additional... (Source: BMC Medical Imaging)

Pseudocystic myxoid liposarcoma of the posterior chest wall - a rare case report
CONCLUSION: Surgery remains the primary therapeutic approach for managing LPSs, including MLPS. Adjuvant preoperative radiation is recommended due to its significant sensitivity and potential for improved outcomes. Given the rarity of this presentation and the varied anatomical locations, a multidisciplinary approach is paramount in effectively managing such cases. Medical practitioners should collaborate closely, considering the unique challenges posed by MLPS to ensure optimal patient care and treatment outcomes.PMID:38098571 | PMC:PMC10718377 | DOI:10.1097/MS9.0000000000001431 (Source: Annals of Medicine)
