Gender Differences in Prognosis After Primary Resection for Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma
CONCLUSION: Men may have worse survival after primary resection of RLPS compared with women, especially in patients with low-grade tumors or patients who received non-radical resection. Gender-based disparities may deserve more attention in patients with RLPS.PMID:37728273 | DOI:10.1177/00031348231201883 (Source: The American Surgeon)

Successful Shoulder Disarticulation under Local Anesthesia in the COVID-19 Era
We report the case of an older patient with an arm liposarcoma for which surgery under general or regional anesthesia was deemed unsafe, but was successfully managed with a curative right shoulder disarticulation using tumescent local anesthesia.PMID:37711723 | PMC:PMC10499080 | DOI:10.1097/GOX.0000000000005266 (Source: Hand Surgery)

Myxoid liposarcoma with nuclear pleomorphism: a clinicopathological and molecular study
In this study, we conducted an in-depth investigation of four MLS tumors that demonstrated nuclear pleomorphism in three patients. These cases accounted for 2.1% of 142 patients with MLS. All patients were male aged 26, 33, and 49 years. Nuclear pleomorphism was observed in both primary and metastatic tumors in one patient, a primary tumor in one patient, and a metastatic tumor in another patient. Pleomorphism was severe in three tumors and moderate in one. Histology resembled that of dedifferentiated liposarcoma with myxoid features, pleomorphic liposarcoma with myxoid features, or myxoid pleomorphic liposarcoma in two tu...

Therapy-induced senescence contributes to the efficacy of abemaciclib in patients with dedifferentiated liposarcoma
CONCLUSIONS: Abemaciclib was well tolerated and showed promising activity in DDLS. The discovery of ANGPTL4 as a late regulator of geroconversion helped to define how cellular senescence modulates the immune tumor microenvironment and contributes to both positive and negative clinical outcomes.PMID:37695642 | DOI:10.1158/1078-0432.CCR-23-2378 (Source: Clinical Cancer Research)
