The FGG c.952G > A variant causes congenital dysfibrinogenemia characterized by recurrent cerebral infarction: a case report
ConclusionThis case report expands the clinical phenotype spectrum associated with FGG c.952G>A (rs267606810) and underscores the significance of considering CD as a potential etiology for unexplained ischemic stroke, particularly in patients with a family history of coagulation disorders. Cystocele – an underappreciated cause of severe obstructive uropathy
An 84-year-old independent woman was admitted with fever, hematuria and extreme lassitude over 3 days. Past medical history included obesity, hypertension (on ramipril), diabetes (on diet, atorvastatin), osteoporosis, and constipation. One year prior she developed urinary frequency and incontinence and was diagnosed with cystocele. She refused surgical repair and received mirabegron 50 mg/day. Recent serum creatinine was 0.9 mg/dL, eGFR 61 ml/min. (Source: The American Journal of Medicine)

Dysregulation of autophagy activation induced by atorvastatin contributes to new-onset diabetes mellitus in western diet-fed mice
The incidence of statin-induced new-onset diabetes (NOD) is increasing but its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We aimed to investigate the effects of various doses of atorvastatin (ATO)-induced autophagy on the development of NOD. (Source: Metabolism - Clinical and Experimental)

Efficiency and Toxicity of Imatinib Mesylate combined with Atorvastatin Calcium in the Treatment of Steroid-Refractory Chronic Graft-Versus-Host Disease: A Single-center, Prospective, Single-arm, Open-label study
CONCLUSION: Combination treatment with imatinib mesylate and atorvastatin calcium was effective in treating SR-cGVHD and significantly decreased target organ injury, especially liver damage, indicating that T-cell regulatory function may play an important role in this process.PMID:38232716 | DOI:10.1159/000536174 (Source: Acta Haematologica)

Genes, Vol. 15, Pages 99: SLCO1B1 Genetic Variation Influence on Atorvastatin Systemic Exposure in Pediatric Hypercholesterolemia
J. Steven Leeder This clinical study examined the influence of SLCO1B1 c.521T>C (rs4149056) on plasma atorvastatin concentrations in pediatric hypercholesterolemia. The participants (8–21 years), including heterozygous (c.521T/C, n = 13), homozygous (c.521C/C, n = 2) and controls (c.521T/T, n = 13), completed a single-oral-dose pharmacokinetic study. Similar to in adults, the atorvastatin (AVA) area-under-concentration-time curve from 0 to 24 h (AUC0–24) was 1.7-fold and 2.8-fold higher in participants with c.521T/C and c.521C/C compared to the c.521T/T participants, respective...

Taohong Siwu decoction ameliorates atherosclerosis in rats possibly through toll-like receptor 4/myeloid differentiation primary response protein 88/nuclear factor- κB signal pathway
CONCLUSIONS: TSD can ameliorate atherosclerosis in rats, and the underlying mechanism is supposed be related to the suppression of inflammatory response by regulating TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signal pathway.PMID:38213245 | PMC:PMC10774721 | DOI:10.19852/j.cnki.jtcm.20231215.003 (Source: Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine)

Efficacy of Jiangzhi Xiaoban tablet on toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor-kappa B/nod-like receptor protein 3 signaling pathway in mice with atherosclerosis induced by high-fat diet
CONCLUSION: JZXB has inhibitory effect on atherosclerosis in mice, and its mechanism may be through regulating the TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway and reducing the inflammatory response, so as to play a role in inhibiting atherosclerosis.PMID:38213243 | PMC:PMC10774719 | DOI:10.19852/j.cnki.jtcm.20231121.002 (Source: Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine)
