Efficacy of Jiangzhi Xiaoban tablet on toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor-kappa B/nod-like receptor protein 3 signaling pathway in mice with atherosclerosis induced by high-fat diet
CONCLUSION: JZXB has inhibitory effect on atherosclerosis in mice, and its mechanism may be through regulating the TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway and reducing the inflammatory response, so as to play a role in inhibiting atherosclerosis.PMID:38213243 | PMC:PMC10774719 | DOI:10.19852/j.cnki.jtcm.20231121.002 (Source: Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine)

Taohong Siwu decoction ameliorates atherosclerosis in rats possibly through toll-like receptor 4/myeloid differentiation primary response protein 88/nuclear factor- κB signal pathway
CONCLUSIONS: TSD can ameliorate atherosclerosis in rats, and the underlying mechanism is supposed be related to the suppression of inflammatory response by regulating TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signal pathway.PMID:38213245 | PMC:PMC10774721 | DOI:10.19852/j.cnki.jtcm.20231215.003 (Source: Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine)

Genetic Determinants of Response to Statins in Cardiovascular Diseases
Curr Cardiol Rev. 2024 Jan 9. doi: 10.2174/011573403X267793231220114042. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDespite extensive efforts to identify patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) who could most benefit from the treatment approach, patients vary in their benefit from therapy and propensity for adverse drug events. Genetic variability in individual responses to drugs (pharmacogenetics) is considered an essential determinant in responding to a drug. Thus, understanding these pharmacogenomic relationships has led to a substantial focus on mechanisms of disease and drug response. In turn, understanding the genomic and mole...

Cholinesterase inhibitors-associated torsade de pointes/QT prolongation: a real-world pharmacovigilance study
Conclusion: The signals of TdP/QT prolongation related to ChEIs were strong and stable. It is necessary to be vigilant about the TdP/QT prolongation of various ChEIs, especially in elderly women, the initial stage after taking ChEIs, and when ChEIs combining with drugs that could prolong the QT interval. The Effect of Original Russian Neurotropic Drugs on Organic Anion Transporting Polypeptides OATP1B1 and OATP1B3
In experiments on HepG2 cells, we studied the effect of the original domestic neurotropic drugs omberacetam, fabomotizole, and ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate (EMHPS) (1-500 μM) on the activity and content of organic anion transporting polypeptides OATP1B1 and OATP1B3. It was shown that omberacetam (500 μM) increased the content of OATP1B1 and OATP1B3, fabomotizole did not affect the level of both transporters, and EMHPS (500 μM) increased the content of OATP1B1 comp ared to the control and did not affect the level of OATP1B3. The tested substances also reduced the OATP1B1/OATP1B3 ratio, as evidenced by a decrease ...

Low-Dose Atorvastatin has Promoting Effect on Melanoma Tumor Growth and Angiogenesis in Mouse Model
CONCLUSION: Atorvastatin, at low therapeutic concentrations, has been observed to stimulate tumor growth and exhibit pro-angiogenic effects. Therefore, it is advised to exercise caution and recommend clinically relevant doses of statins to patients with cancer.PMID:38192896 | PMC:PMC10772795 | DOI:10.4103/abr.abr_120_22 (Source: Cancer Control)
