Necrostatin-1 Analog DIMO Exerts Cardioprotective Effect against Ischemia Reperfusion Injury by Suppressing Necroptosis via Autophagic Pathway in Rats
Conclusion: DIMO exerts cardioprotection against I/R- or OGD/R-induced injury, and its mechanisms may be associated with the reduction in RIP1K activation and restoration impaired autophagic flux.Pharmacology (Source: Pharmacology)

Schisandrin B Protects against Acute Ethanol-Induced Cardiac Injury by Downregulating Autophagy via the NOX4/ROS Pathway
Conclusion: These results highlight that NOX4 is a critical mediator of ROS and elaborate the role of the NOX4/ROS axis in the effect of schisandrin B on autophagy and autophagy-mediated apoptosis in acute ethanol exposure, which suggests a therapeutic strategy for acute alcoholic cardiomyopathy.Pharmacology (Source: Pharmacology)

Tanshinone IIA Ameliorates Inflammation Response in Osteoarthritis via Inhibition of miR-155/FOXO3 Axis
Conclusions: Taken together, our data suggest tanshinone IIA ameliorates inflammation response in OA via inhibition of the miR-155/FOXO3 axis, and provide some evidences that tanshinone IIA could be designed and developed as a new promising clinical therapeutic drug for OA patients.Pharmacology (Source: Pharmacology)

Moderate Hydrogen Peroxide Postconditioning Ameliorates Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Cardiomyocytes via STAT3-Induced Calcium, ROS, and ATP Homeostasis
Conclusion: These findings indicated that the cardioprotection of moderate H2O2PoC against cardiac I/R could be associated with activated STAT3 at early reperfusion to maintain calcium, ROS, and ATP homeostasis in rat cardiomyocytes.Pharmacology (Source: Pharmacology)

MTX Treatment Does Not Improve Outcome in Mice with AMI
Conclusion: MTX medication did not improve postischemic cardiac damage in a murine model of AMI. Future trials are needed to identify and investigate other anti-inflammatory targets to improve cardiovascular outcome.Pharmacology (Source: Pharmacology)

Hypersensitivity to Rituximab in Children
In this report, we describe 2 children who had a diagnosis of anaphylaxis to rituximab (RTX), confirmed by positive in vivo tests in both cases and elevated tryptase value in one case. We also made a review of the few cases of HR to RTX in pediatric population reported in literature and discuss differential diagnosis and utility of allergy investigations.Pharmacology (Source: Pharmacology)

Association between Patients ’ Knowledge and Adherence to Anticoagulants, and Its Effect on Coagulation Control
Conclusion: The study addressed and identified several areas for future improvement of patient outcomes. The implementation of new approaches to enhance patient knowledge and adherence is warranted, and measures to provide treatment for all patients that require it are needed, to improve outcomes and decrease adverse drug effects.Pharmacology (Source: Pharmacology)

Febuxostat Attenuates the Induction of Vascular Cell Adhesion Protein 1 by TNF- α in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells
In this study, we focus on an intervention of febuxostat or allopurinol as an anti-inflammatory treatment to reduce the transcription of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF- κB) and production of relevant inflammatory factors. We evaluated the effect of febuxostat on vascular cell adhesion protein 1 (VCAM-1) induction in cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Cells were exposed to tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α (10 ng/mL) treatment for 24 h. Febuxost at or allopurinol (0.1–100 μM) was added to the bath medium 15 min before TNF-α treatment. VCAM-1 levels in HUVECs increased after 24-h TNF-α treatment (n = 4)...

Monensin-Induced Increase in Intracellular Na < sup > + < /sup > Induces Changes in Na < sup > + < /sup > and Ca < sup > 2+ < /sup > Currents and Regulates Na < sup > + < /sup > -K < sup > + < /sup > and Na < sup > + < /sup > -Ca < sup > 2+ < /sup > Transport in Cardiomyocytes
Conclusion: These results suggest that the monensin-induced shortened APD and reduced amplitude of the plateau phase are primarily due to the decrease in the ICa, the activation of the reverse mode of INa-Ca, and the increased INa-K, and second due to the decreased INa. The IK and the IK1 may not be associated with the abovementioned changes induced by monensin. The elevation of [Na]i can exert multiple influences on electrophysiological phenomena in cardiac myocytes.Pharmacology (Source: Pharmacology)
