The relationship between dietary inflammatory index values and thyroid function in the US adult population: An analysis of the NHANES 2007 –2012 cohort
ConclusionThese data indicate that the consumption of a more proinflammatory diet, as evidenced by elevated DII scores, is correlated with significant increases in FT3 and TT4 levels. However, for people with high urinary iodine concentrations, a more proinflammatory diet was associated with lower FT3 levels. Additional research will be vital to clarify the mechanistic basis for these findings. (Source: Immunity, Inflammation and Disease)

KDM2B regulates inflammation and oxidative stress of sepsis via targeting NF ‐κB and AP‐1 pathways
ConclusionKDM2B knockdown reduced cytotoxicity, inflammation and oxidative stress in LPS-induced AKI via inhibiting NF- κB and AP-1 pathways, indicating KDM2B may be a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of sepsis-associated AKI. (Source: Immunity, Inflammation and Disease)

A study on the level of NLRP3 inflammasome in patients with premature rupture of membranes
ConclusionThe concentrations of IL-1 β and IL-18, as well as the ratios of NLRP3, ASC, and caspase-1-positive macrophages, were elevated in patients with PROM compared to the control group. This suggests a potential correlation between the excessive activation of NLRP3 and the development of PROM. (Source: Immunity, Inflammation and Disease)

Bibliometric analysis of publication trends and topics of influenza ‐related encephalopathy from 2000 to 2022
ConclusionsThe research progress, hotspots, and frontiers on influenza-related encephalopathy after 2000 were described through the visualization of bibliometrics. The findings will lay the groundwork for future studies and provide a reference for influenza-related encephalopathy. Research on influenza-related encephalopathy is basically at a stable stage, and the number of research results is related to outbreaks of the influenza virus. Current perspective on biological properties of plasmacytoid dendritic cells and dysfunction in gut
pDCs are a subset of dendritic cells, and transcription factors play a crucial role in the process. pDCs contribute to intestinal immune responses by generating interferon (IFN) and presenting antigens. pDCs guard the intestinal mucosa and protect against the invasion of microbiota and pathogens in the gut, playing a pivotal role in gut infection and colon cancer. AbstractPlasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), a subtype of DC, possess unique developmental, morphological, and functional traits that have sparked much debate over the years whether they should be categorized as DCs. The digestive system has the greatest mucosal ...

High systemic immune ‐inflammation index is relevant to osteoporosis among middle‐aged and older people: A cross‐sectional study
ConclusionsThis present NHANES-based study noticed that higher SII is positively linked to osteoporosis among middle-aged and older people, and SII should not exceed 530.09 for them to obtain a potentially lower risk of osteoporosis. (Source: Immunity, Inflammation and Disease)

Receptors expressions on peripheral lymphocytes and CD4+CD183+ as a diagnostics biomarker for rheumatoid arthritis: A case –control study in Ghana
ConclusionCD4+CD183+ best predict RA and is positively correlated with disease activity. CD4+CD183+ could serve as diagnostics and disease-monitoring biomarker for RA; however, it demonstrates low specificity. Future studies should be directed on CD4+CD183+ and other biomarkers to augment their diagnostics performances and routine management in RA. (Source: Immunity, Inflammation and Disease)
