Sex-specific structural and functional cardiac remodeling during healthy aging assessed by cardiovascular magnetic resonance
ConclusionsIn both sexes, healthy aging was associated with an increase in concentricity and a decline in ventricular dimensions. Furthermore, relevant age-related sex differences in systolic LV performance were observed.Graphical Abstract↓, decrease; ↑, increase; ±, maintaining. Abbreviations: CMR, cardiovascular magnetic resonance; EDV, end-diastolic volume; EF, ejection fraction; LV, left ventricle; MVR, mass-to-volume ratio; RV, right ventricle; SVI, stroke volume index; T, Tesla; VR, volume ratio. Transcatheter aortic valve implantation in patients with significant septal hypertrophy
ConclusionAlthough transvalvular mean pressure gradients were significantly higher in patients with increased IVSD after TAVI, acute outcomes were comparable between groups suggesting no early impact of adverse hemodynamics due to elevated IVSD. However, how these differences in hemodynamic findings may affect mid- and long-term outcomes, especially in terms of valve durability, needs to be evaluated in further investigations.Graphical Abstract (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)

Effect of supervised exercise training on cardiovascular function in patients with intermittent claudication: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
In conclusion, SET is effective in improving cardiovascular function in patients with IC, which was confirmed on outcomes of cardiovascular function associated with exercise ability. The findings hold out that the standard therapy of SET can improve not only walking distance but also c ardiovascular function in patients with IC. (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)

Clinical value of a comprehensive clinical- and echocardiography-based risk score on predicting cardiovascular outcomes in ischemic heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction
ConclusionThis study establishes and validates the novel C&E risk score as a reliable tool for predicting CV outcomes in IHF patients with reduced LVEF. The risk score holds potential for enhancing risk stratification and guiding clinical decision-making for high-risk patients.Graphical abstract (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)

Risk of death, thrombotic and hemorrhagic events in anticoagulated patients with atrial fibrillation and systemic autoimmune diseases: an analysis from a global federated dataset
ConclusionAF patients with SAD are associated with a high risk of all-cause death, thrombotic, and hemorrhagic events. These patients merit careful follow-up and integrated care management to improve their prognosis.Graphical Abstract (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)

Role of preexisting right ventricular remodeling in symptoms and prognosis after transcatheter tricuspid valve repair
ConclusionsTTVr was associated with significant QoL improvement after 1  month, irrespective of RVR. Despite increased mortality and rehospitalization for heart failure, TTVr in the presence of RVR still provides substantial symptomatic benefit for patients with severe TR.Graphical abstractRole of preexisting right ventricular remodeling (RVR) in symptoms and prognosis after transcatheter tricuspid valve repair (TTVr). Deferral of non-emergency cardiac interventions is associated with increased emergency hospitalizations up to 24  months post-procedure
ConclusionDeferral of non-emergency cardiovascular interventions is associated with poor outcomes up to 24  months post-procedure. Adverse effects affect patients who develop signs of acute heart failure, as indicated by NT-proBNP, prior to treatment. These findings could help improve resource allocation in times of limited capacity.Graphical Abstract (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)
