Clinical value of a comprehensive clinical- and echocardiography-based risk score on predicting cardiovascular outcomes in ischemic heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction
ConclusionThis study establishes and validates the novel C&E risk score as a reliable tool for predicting CV outcomes in IHF patients with reduced LVEF. The risk score holds potential for enhancing risk stratification and guiding clinical decision-making for high-risk patients.Graphical abstract (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)

Risk of death, thrombotic and hemorrhagic events in anticoagulated patients with atrial fibrillation and systemic autoimmune diseases: an analysis from a global federated dataset
ConclusionAF patients with SAD are associated with a high risk of all-cause death, thrombotic, and hemorrhagic events. These patients merit careful follow-up and integrated care management to improve their prognosis.Graphical Abstract (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)

Role of preexisting right ventricular remodeling in symptoms and prognosis after transcatheter tricuspid valve repair
ConclusionsTTVr was associated with significant QoL improvement after 1  month, irrespective of RVR. Despite increased mortality and rehospitalization for heart failure, TTVr in the presence of RVR still provides substantial symptomatic benefit for patients with severe TR.Graphical abstractRole of preexisting right ventricular remodeling (RVR) in symptoms and prognosis after transcatheter tricuspid valve repair (TTVr). Deferral of non-emergency cardiac interventions is associated with increased emergency hospitalizations up to 24  months post-procedure
ConclusionDeferral of non-emergency cardiovascular interventions is associated with poor outcomes up to 24  months post-procedure. Adverse effects affect patients who develop signs of acute heart failure, as indicated by NT-proBNP, prior to treatment. These findings could help improve resource allocation in times of limited capacity.Graphical Abstract (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)

Incidence and predictors of left atrial thrombus in patients with atrial fibrillation under anticoagulation therapy
ConclusionsLAT was present in a considerable number of patients who were already receiving anticoagulation therapy. A prediction model that combines clinical and echocardiographic predictors could be useful in distinguishing patients who require imaging evaluations before left atrial intervention.Graphical abstractIncidnece and predictors of LAT in patients with AF under anticoagulation therapy. AF, atrial fibrillation; CVS, CHA2DS2-VASc score; LA, left atrium; LAA, left atrial appendage; LAE, left atrial enlargement; LVEF, left ventricular ejection fraction; MR, mitral regurgitation; OAC, oral anticoagulant; PeAF, persist...

Non-femoral focused transaxillary access in TAVI: GARY data analysis and future trends
ConclusionIt may be reasonable to consider TAx access first in patients not suitable for TF-TAVI, because the 30-day survival was higher compared with TA access and the 1-year survival was higher compared with TAo access. It remains important for the heart teams to offer alternative access modalities for patients not amenable to the standard TF-TAVI approaches.Graphical Abstract (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)

Trends of mortality rate in patients with congenital heart defects in Germany —analysis of nationwide data of the Federal Statistical Office of Germany
ConclusionMortality in CHD patients decreased significantly between 1998 and 2010, but a substantial number of deaths still occurred and even significantly increased in the last 3  years of the observation period particularly in neonates and infants. This renewed slight increase in mortality rate during the last years was influenced mainly by high-risk neonates and infants. Assessment of factors influencing the mortality rate trends in association with CHD in Germany is urge ntly needed. Obligatory nationwide registration of death cases in relation to surgical and catheter interventions in CHD patients is necessary to pro...

Causal association between lipoproteins and risk of coronary artery disease —a systematic review and meta-analysis of Mendelian randomization studies
ConclusionThe present meta-analysis suggests an overall effect of causal association between lipoproteins and CAD. Most of the non-HDL lipoproteins (LDL, apoB, Lp(a)) promote CAD, while the protective effect of HDL in CAD still needs to be verified in the future.Graphical abstract• The roles of lipoproteins in the development of CAD have been raised due to various reasons, and no systemic review has analyzed data from MR studies yet.• This study included a total of 5,828,409 participates from 21 records with quality and bias assessed.• The present meta-analysis suggests a overall effect of causal association between ...

Prognostic implication of heart failure stage and left ventricular ejection fraction for patients with in-hospital cardiac arrest: a 16-year retrospective cohort study
ConclusionHF stage and LVEF could stratify patients with IHCA into different prognoses. Pre-HF and HFpEF were significantly associated with favorable neurological and survival outcomes after IHCA. Further studies are warranted to investigate whether HF status-directed management could improve IHCA outcomes. (Source: Clinical Research in Cardiology)
