Redo Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation with the ALLEGRA Transcatheter Heart Valve: Insights from Bench Testing
ConclusionThe ALLEGRA THV had favorable hydrodynamic performance, stability and pinwheeling in all redo TAVI samples except the Evolut Pro at low implantation depth with compromised function. The choice of initial THV may have late implications on new THV choice and function. (Source: Cardiovascular Engineering and Technology)

Multi-Objective Optimization of Bioresorbable Magnesium Alloy Stent by Kriging Surrogate Model
ConclusionStent expansion behavior are highly dependent on design parameters, i.e. thickness, U-bend and link strut width. The purposed Multi-objective optimization approach based on Kriging surrogate model and finite element analysis is efficient in stent design optimization problem. Reproducibility of Systolic Strain in Mice Using Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Feature Tracking of Black-Blood Cine Images
ConclusionThe results of this preliminary study showed excellent reproducibility for all ES strain parameters, with good to excellent reproducibility for the peak strain parameters. Moreover, all ES strain parameters had larger ICC values than the peak strain. In general, these results imply that feature-tracking with CMR42 software and black-blood cine images can be reliably used to assess strain patterns in mice. Colocalization of Coronary Plaque with Wall Shear Stress in Myocardial Bridge Patients
ConclusionWSS may be obtained non-invasively in MB patients and provides a surrogate marker of plaque area. Using CFD, it may be possible to non-invasively assess the extent of plaque area, and identify patients who could benefit from frequent monitoring or medical management. Characterization of Surgical Tools for Specific Endovascular Navigation
ConclusionThe Young moduli of the shaft and the distal tip of the guidewire were determined. We defined a suitable current intensity to activate the guidewire related to an optimal curvature. Then, the time of activation/deactivation was measured at 1.7 s. On the flip side, parts of the catheters were considered either elastic or viscoelastic. In all cases, the rigidity gradients along the various catheters were highlighted. The characterization of the aforementioned surgical tools provides the opportunity to simulate the endovascular nagivation process. (Source: Cardiovascular Engineering and Technology)
