Radiological predictive factors on preoperative multimodality imaging are related to Oncotype DX recurrence score in estrogen-positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative invasive breast cancer: a cross-sectional study
ConclusionsThe combination of perpendicular tumor growth orientation to Cooper ’s ligaments on MRI and a low SUVmax on PET/CT may predict a low ODXRS. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Automated semi-quantitative amyloid PET analysis technique without MR images for Alzheimer ’s disease
ConclusionsThis semi-quantitative analysis technique using18F-flutemetamol-PET calculated SUVr and CL automatically without anatomical images. Moreover, it objectively and homogeneously interpreted positive or negative A β burden in the brain as a supplemental tool for the visual reading of equivocal cases in routine clinical practice. Diagnosis of Parkinson syndrome and Lewy-body disease using 123I-ioflupane images and a model with image features based on machine learning
ConclusionsImage features such as high or low uptake, symmetry or asymmetry, and comma- or dot-like profiles can be determined using ML. The diagnostic accuracy of differentiating PS/PD/DLB was the highest for the multivariate model with three features and age compared with the conventional ROI-based method. Manual on the proper use of meta-[211At] astato-benzylguanidine ([211At] MABG) injections in clinical trials for targeted alpha therapy (1st edition)
AbstractIn this manuscript, we present the guideline for use of meta-[211At] astatobenzylguanidine ([211At] MABG), a newly introduced alpha emitting radiopharmaceutical to the up-coming World ’s first clinical trial for targeted alpha therapy (TAT) at Fukushima Medical University in Japan, focusing on radiation safety issues in Japan. This guideline was prepared based on a study supported by the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare, and approved by the Japanese Society of Nuclear Me dicine on Oct. 5th, 2021. The study showed that patients receiving [211At] MABG do not need to be admitted to a radiotherapy room and tha...

Crossed cerebellar diaschisis-related supratentorial hemodynamic and metabolic status measured by PET/MR in assessing postoperative prognosis in chronic ischemic cerebrovascular disease patients with bypass surgery
ConclusionsSupratentorial blood flow and metabolism are important indicators of CCD. This study showed that CCD  + patients benefited more from bypass surgery than CCD− patients. Staging based on CCD-related supra-tentorial blood flow and metabolic status by hybrid PET/MR may help to personalize treatment. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Age-related increase of monoamine oxidase B in amyloid-negative cognitively unimpaired elderly subjects
ConclusionsThis study demonstrated age-dependent increase of18F-THK5351 retention in amyloid-negative cognitively unimpaired subjects, which suggests an increase in MAO-B positive reactive astrocytes with aging. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Comparison of skeletal segmentation by deep learning-based and atlas-based segmentation in prostate cancer patients
ConclusionsVSBONE BSI has a potential to be higher segmentation accuracy compared with BONENAVI. However, the segmentation error in VSBONE BSI occurred dependent on bone metastases burden. We need to be careful when evaluating multiple bone metastases using VSBONE BSI. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Unusual perfusion patterns on perfusion-only SPECT/CT scans in COVID-19 patients
ConclusionsHeterogeneous perfusion abnormalities were found in most of COVID-19 patients: parenchymal lesions with normal, decreased or increased perfusion and perfusion defects in healthy lung areas. These phenomena may be explained by the failure of the hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction mechanism and presence of pulmonary thrombosis and embolism. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Inferences of SPECT renal dynamic imaging injection quality based on lung and abdominal aorta imaging features
ConclusionsThe times of appearance and regression of the lung shadows and the peak time and peak count ratio in the abdominal aorta in the dynamic renal imaging perfusion phase can help assess the imaging agent injection quality and identify the need for a repeated examination. Improving the imaging agent injection quality can effectively reduce the renal function misdiagnosis rate. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Performance of digital PET/CT compared with conventional PET/CT in oncologic patients: a prospective comparison study
ConclusionsDPET scanners in combination with high-resolution reconstructions clinically outperform cPET scanners with both high- and standard-resolution reconstructions as the PET readers identified more FDG-avid lesions, their diagnostic confidence was increased, and they visually preferred dPET. However, when dPET was made first, high-resolution dPET and high-resolution cPET showed similar performance, indicating the positive effect of a prolonged FDG uptake time. Therefore, high-resolution cPET in combination with a prolonged FDG uptake time can be considered as an alternative.Graphical abstract (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)
