A first-in-man study of [18F] FEDAC: a novel PET tracer for the 18-kDa translocator protein
Conclusion[18F]FEDAC PET/CT provided adequate image quality at an acceptable effective dose with no adverse effects. Therefore, [18F]FEDAC may be useful in human TSPO-PET imaging. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Role of PET/CT in diagnosing and monitoring disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis: a review
AbstractRheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a systemic inflammatory disorder that commonly presents with polyarthritis but can have multisystemic involvement and complications, leading to increased morbidity and mortality. The diagnosis of RA continues to be challenging due to its varied clinical presentations. In this review article, we aim to determine the potential of PET/CT to assist in the diagnosis of RA and its complications, evaluate the therapeutic response to treatment, and predict RA remission. PET/CT has increasingly been used in the last decade to diagnose, monitor treatment response, predict remissions, and diagnose...

Factors predicting remission in hyperthyroid patients after low-dose I-131 therapy: 20  years retrospective study from a tertiary care hospital
ConclusionHigh therapeutic outcome was observed with a single dose of LDT while on iodine-free diet. Remission with single dose of LDT occurred in 90% patients by 5th month. Of them 56% patients were treatment naive prior to LDT. LDT is thus a safe and effective therapy in hyperthyroid patients and can be recommended as a primary modality of management. Performance of 99mTc-PYP scintigraphy in the diagnosis of hereditary transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis
ConclusionsAla97Ser is the most common genotype in ATTRv-CA in our cohort, with characteristics of later onset and rapid progression, but delayed diagnosis and extensive99mTc-PYP uptake. Overall, ATTRv-CA patients showed moderate-to-extensive myocardial99mTc-PYP uptake. Additionally, VGS carries subjectivity, low specialty and interobserver consistency. But H/CL exhibit high diagnostic efficacy and interobserver consistency. The H/CL ratio is more useful than VGS. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Left ventricular mechanical dyssynchrony after chemotherapy in breast cancer patients with normal rest gated SPECT-MPI
ConclusionUsing phase analysis of gated SPECT-MPI, chemotherapy-induced LVD was seen in a significant number of patients with breast cancer, especially with a high cumulative dose of doxorubicin. LVD might indicate chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity before LVEF becomes abnormal. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

The value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in Langerhans cell histiocytosis
Conclusions18F-FDG PET/CT is an effective way to diagnose and evaluate LCH. PET metabolic parameters were associated with laboratory inflammatory markers, suggesting that 18F-FDG PET/CT may be helpful in evaluating disease activity of LCH. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Optimized gated a SPECT-derived myocardial salvage index: its prognostic significance in predicting major adverse cardiac events following acute myocardial infarction percussion
ConclusionThe MSI obtained from a simple GSMPI early after PCI, using the scoring evaluation method, was a reliable prognostic indicator for predicting LVEF improvement and MACEs in AMI. It remarkably improved the prognostic value compared with the previous reference methods. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Deep learning approach using SPECT-to-PET translation for attenuation correction in CT-less myocardial perfusion SPECT imaging
ConclusionsOur PET-supervised deep learning model is a new approach to correct well-known inferior wall attenuation in SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging. As standalone SPECT systems are used worldwide, the SPECTSPT generation model may be applied as a low-cost and practical clinical tool that provides powerful auxiliary information for the diagnosis of myocardial blood flow. Development and application of a fully automatic multi-function cassette module Mortenon M1 for radiopharmaceutical synthesis
ConclusionThis study demonstrated that the full-automatic module system Mortenon M1 is efficient for radiolabeling synthesis of both small-molecule and macromolecular substrates. It may be helpful to reduce radiation exposure for safety, provide qualified radiolabeled products and reliable PET diagnosis, and ensure stable production and supply of radiopharmaceuticals. Impact of preoperative [18F]FDG PET/CT vs. contrast-enhanced CT in the staging and survival of patients with clinical stage I and II non-small cell lung cancer: a 10-year follow-up study
ConclusionAddition of preoperative [18F]FDG PET/CT was associated with superior DFS and OS in resectable cI –II NSCLC, which may result from accurate staging and stage-appropriate therapy. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Comparison of absorbed doses to the tumoral and non-tumoral liver in HCC patients undergoing 99mTc-MAA and 90Y-microspheres radioembolization
ConclusionThis study provides evidence that the administered activity of90Y-microspheres, as estimated from90Y-bremsstrahlung SPECT/CT, was significantly higher than that estimated from99mTc-MAA SPECT/CT resulted in increased absorbed doses in both the tumoral-liver and non-tumoral liver. However,99mTc-MAA SPECT/CT remains a valuable planning tool for predicting the distribution of90Y-microspheres in liver cancer treatment. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)
