Quantitative analysis of abdominal aortic blood flow by 99mTc-DTPA renal scintigraphy in patients with heart failure
ConclusionsBased on99mTc-DTPA renal scintigraphy, TTPa may be used as a straightforward and non-invasive tool that can effectively distinguish patients with and without HF. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Impact of [11C]methionine PET with Bayesian penalized likelihood reconstruction on glioma grades based on new WHO 2021 classification
ConclusionsThe BPL increased mean SUVmax and mean T/Nmax in lesions with higher contrast such as grade 4 glioma. The discrimination power between grades 2/3 and 4 in SUVmax was also increased using [11C]methionine PET images reconstructed with BPL. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

The active papillary muscle sign in 18F-FDG PET/CT cardiac sarcoidosis exams and its relationship with myocardial suppression
ConclusionLack of PM activity can be a sign of appropriate MS. PM activity is less common with a specific dietary preparation (72-h daytime ketogenic diet with 3-day overnight fasting), and if it is present with this particular preparation, the likelihood that the case being true active CS might be higher than the other traditional dietary preparations. Role of PSMA-targeted PET-CT in renal cell carcinoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis
AbstractFluoro-deoxy glucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), the workhorse of nuclear medicine, has limited utility for renal cell carcinoma (RCC), particularly clear cell variant. Thus, various other tracers have been  tried for evaluation of RCC. One of the most promising targets for radiotracers is prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) expressed in abundance in carcinoma-associated neo-vasculature. Thus, we tried to review and analyse the role of PSMA-targeted PET/CT in evaluation of RCC. Databases like Pu bMed, EMBASE and SCOPUS were searched for original studies published on PSMA-target...

Optimized gated a SPECT-derived myocardial salvage index: its prognostic significance in predicting major adverse cardiac events following acute myocardial infarction percussion
ConclusionThe MSI obtained from a simple GSMPI early after PCI, using the scoring evaluation method, was a reliable prognostic indicator for predicting LVEF improvement and MACEs in AMI. It remarkably improved the prognostic value compared with the previous reference methods. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Role of PET/CT in diagnosing and monitoring disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis: a review
AbstractRheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a systemic inflammatory disorder that commonly presents with polyarthritis but can have multisystemic involvement and complications, leading to increased morbidity and mortality. The diagnosis of RA continues to be challenging due to its varied clinical presentations. In this review article, we aim to determine the potential of PET/CT to assist in the diagnosis of RA and its complications, evaluate the therapeutic response to treatment, and predict RA remission. PET/CT has increasingly been used in the last decade to diagnose, monitor treatment response, predict remissions, and diagnose...

Factors predicting remission in hyperthyroid patients after low-dose I-131 therapy: 20  years retrospective study from a tertiary care hospital
ConclusionHigh therapeutic outcome was observed with a single dose of LDT while on iodine-free diet. Remission with single dose of LDT occurred in 90% patients by 5th month. Of them 56% patients were treatment naive prior to LDT. LDT is thus a safe and effective therapy in hyperthyroid patients and can be recommended as a primary modality of management. Deep learning approach using SPECT-to-PET translation for attenuation correction in CT-less myocardial perfusion SPECT imaging
ConclusionsOur PET-supervised deep learning model is a new approach to correct well-known inferior wall attenuation in SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging. As standalone SPECT systems are used worldwide, the SPECTSPT generation model may be applied as a low-cost and practical clinical tool that provides powerful auxiliary information for the diagnosis of myocardial blood flow. Comparison of absorbed doses to the tumoral and non-tumoral liver in HCC patients undergoing 99mTc-MAA and 90Y-microspheres radioembolization
ConclusionThis study provides evidence that the administered activity of90Y-microspheres, as estimated from90Y-bremsstrahlung SPECT/CT, was significantly higher than that estimated from99mTc-MAA SPECT/CT resulted in increased absorbed doses in both the tumoral-liver and non-tumoral liver. However,99mTc-MAA SPECT/CT remains a valuable planning tool for predicting the distribution of90Y-microspheres in liver cancer treatment. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Impact of preoperative [18F]FDG PET/CT vs. contrast-enhanced CT in the staging and survival of patients with clinical stage I and II non-small cell lung cancer: a 10-year follow-up study
ConclusionAddition of preoperative [18F]FDG PET/CT was associated with superior DFS and OS in resectable cI –II NSCLC, which may result from accurate staging and stage-appropriate therapy. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

The value of 18F-FDG PET/CT in Langerhans cell histiocytosis
Conclusions18F-FDG PET/CT is an effective way to diagnose and evaluate LCH. PET metabolic parameters were associated with laboratory inflammatory markers, suggesting that 18F-FDG PET/CT may be helpful in evaluating disease activity of LCH. (Source: Annals of Nuclear Medicine)

Nuclear medicine practice in Japan: a report of the ninth nationwide survey in 2022
AbstractSubcommittee on Survey of Nuclear Medicine Practice in Japan has performed a nationwide survey of nuclear medicine practice every 5  years since 1982 to survey contemporary nuclear medicine practice and its changes over the years. The subcommittee sent questionnaires, including the number and category of examinations as well as the kind of the radiopharmaceuticals during the 30 days of June 2022 to all nuclear medicine institu tes in Japan. The total numbers of them for the year 2022 were estimated depends on the 1-month data. A total of 1095 institutes responded to the survey, including 364 positron emission tom...
