Gender-Based Outcome Discrepancies in Patients Who Underwent Alcohol Septal Ablation or Septal Myectomy for Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy: A Systematic Review and  Meta-Analysis
Clinical evidence and emerging studies suggest that the clinical heterogeneity observed in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy could be because of gender-based differences. We aimed to explore the gender-related differences pertaining to the treatment outcomes after alcohol septal ablation (ASA) and septal myectomy (SM). We searched PUBMED/MEDLINE, EMBASE, and SCOPUS to identify studies that report gender-stratified comparison of outcomes. The primary outcome of interest was short-term (within 30  days) mortality. Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy with left ventricle outflow tract chordae insertion: Surgery or alcohol septal ablation? A case report
In this report, we present the case of a lady, with symptomatic HOCM associated with a chord inserted on the left ventricular outflow tract. We succeeded to relieve obstruction by alcohol septal ablation without the need for surgery. (Source: Clinical Case Reports)

Treatment With Microspheres in Patients With Obstructive Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: An Old Therapy Tries to Emerge With Long-Term Outcome Data
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a relatively frequent genetic disease with a prevalence of 1/500 to 1/200; about two-thirds of patients have an obstructive variant (hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy [HOCM]).1 Left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) obstruction occurs in the setting of a hypertrophied anterobasal septum and systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve; high gradients can lead to acute or chronic heart failure, syncope, and an increased risk of sudden cardiac death. Various options to decrease or relieve the obstruction have been employed, including medical therapy to reduce the force and velocity of left...

Mitral annular calcification in obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: Incidence, risk factors, and prognostic value after myectomy
CONCLUSION: MAC was detected in one-tenth of OHCM patients in preoperative CT scanning and is mainly associated with aging and atherosclerosis. OHCM patients with MAC had a worse prognosis and more recurrent mitral valve regurgitation than those without MAC after septal myectomy.PMID:37574021 | DOI:10.1016/j.ijcard.2023.131266 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Mitral annular calcification in obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: Incidence, risk factors, and prognostic value after myectomy
Mitral annular calcification (MAC) is a risk factor for cardiac surgery, but there is limited study on the prognosis value and the impact for valve function of MAC based on computed tomography (CT) diagnosis after myectomy for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (OHCM). Sensors, Vol. 23, Pages 6711: Channel Prediction-Based Security Authentication for Artificial Intelligence of Things
Xuan Sun The emerging physical-layer unclonable attribute-aided authentication (PLUA) schemes are capable of outperforming traditional isolated approaches, with the advantage of having reliable fingerprints. However, conventional PLUA methods face new challenges in artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) applications owing to their limited flexibility. These challenges arise from the distributed nature of AIoT devices and the involved information, as well as the requirement for short end-to-end latency. To address these challenges, we propose a security authentication scheme that utilizes intelligent prediction mecha...
