Clinicopathological characteristics of 3 probable pediatric cases with acute severe hepatitis of unknown aetiology
CONCLUSIONS: The exact aetiology of ASHep-UA was still unknown. By reporting the 3 probable cases, we expect to enrich the clinical experience in diagnosis and treatment of ASHep-UA as well as the pathological characteristics.PMID:38146348 | PMC:PMC10749268 | DOI:10.1016/j.nmni.2023.101203 (Source: Herpes)

Eucalyptus-derived essential oils alleviate microbes and modulate inflammation by suppressing superoxide and elastase release
Front Pharmacol. 2023 Nov 21;14:1218315. doi: 10.3389/fphar.2023.1218315. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTThe Eucalyptus tree, belonging to the myrtle family, grows all over the world for its pharmaceutical and industrial benefits. In this article, we present a comparative analysis of the chemical composition of the hydrodistilled oils obtained from three different Eucalyptus species growing in Egypt viz. E. citriodora, E. camaldulensis, and E. ficifolia. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometric guided analysis resulted in the identification of a total of 20 metabolites in E. citriodora oil with citronellal (54.9%) and citronellol (...

Case Report: First case of HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and Vibrio vulnificus coinfection
Our patient, a 48-year-old man from Guangdong’s coastal region, worked selling and processing oysters and other seafood. He started experiencing swelling and pain in his left knee on October 4, 2022, and they got worse over time. The findings of mNGS test showed Vibrio vulnificus infection. The patient had AIDS, hepatitis A and hepatitis B concurrently. He was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) for treatment as his symptoms worsened. We refrained from performing an amputation because the family members expressed a desire to keep the limb. The limb was managed with regular dressing changes, thorough de...
