The expression of GADA, ZnT8A and IA-2A in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus with thyroid disease and their correlation with thyroid autoantibodies
CONCLUSIONS: TD can exacerbate the disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism in patients with T1DM, and multiple insulin autoantibodies positive T1DM patients it is more likely to have thyroid autoantibody positivity. It is suggested that patients with aggravated glucose and lipid metabolism and multiple insulin autoantibody positivity should be routinely screened for thyroid antibodies to help early diagnosis of TD.PMID:38164867 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202312_34803 (Source: European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences)

Is total thyroidectomy more difficult in Hashimoto's thyroiditis?
CONCLUSION: The mean time for operation and mean time for reaching RLN in patients with HT was significantly longer than in patients with other benign pathology results. It has been scientifically shown that HT should be among the causes of difficult thyroidectomy. This result can provide a legal advantage for surgeons who face such a sad complication.KEY WORDS: Hashimoto thyroiditis, Recurrent laryngeal nerve, Thyroiditis.PMID:38131419 (Source: Annali Italiani di Chirurgia)

Increased Thyroid DPP4 Expression is Associated with Inflammatory Process in Patients with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
CONCLUSIONS: The DPP4 expression was significantly increased in the thyroid of the HT group than in the control group, and mainly localized in the lymphocytes. Inhibition of lymphocyte DPP4 activity reduced the production of inflammatory factors in co-cultured thyroid cells. Therefore, inhibition of DPP4 may have a beneficial effect by alleviating inflammatory reactions in HT patients.PMID:38127960 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgad723 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

Elevated Thyroglobulin Antibody Level is Associated with Decreased Anti-M üllerian Hormone in Women of Reproductive Age
CONCLUSION: The AMH of women of reproductive age is affected by HT. Furthermore, women with the lowest AMH level had higher levels of TgAb and a positive rate of TgAb, and high TgAb levels may cause autoimmune damage to the ovaries.PMID:38125684 | PMC:PMC10733051 | DOI:10.1155/2023/1861752 (Source: International Journal of Endocrinology)

Prognosis and influencing factors of follicular thyroid cancer
ConclusionsHistologic subtype, nodule size, and distant metastasis are important risk factors for the prognosis of follicular thyroid cancer. Patients with metastatic follicular thyroid cancer have a poor prognosis, especially with metastasis at the time of initial diagnosis. As a result, this group of patients requires individualized treatment and closer follow-up. (Source: Cancer Medicine)
