Interleukin (IL)-23, IL-31, and IL-33 Play a Role in the Course of Autoimmune Endocrine Diseases
CONCLUSION: IL-23 and IL-31 are independent factors in the course of HT, GD, and APS-2, in contrast to APS-3. The positive correlation between IL-23 and IL-31, IL-23 and IL-33, and between IL-31 and IL-33 in the APS, APS-2 groups, but the lack of correlation in the APS-3 and C groups may further suggest the involvement of these cytokines in the course of Addison's disease.PMID:37694787 | DOI:10.2174/1871530323666230908143521 (Source: Endocrine, Metabolic and Immune Disorders Drug Targets)

Role of Th17 and IL-17 Cytokines on Inflammatory and Auto-immune Diseases
CONCLUSION: The significant involvement of IL-17 cytokines in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases underscores their potential as therapeutic targets. Current treatments utilizing antibodies against IL-17 cytokines and IL-17RA receptors have shown promise in managing these conditions. This review consolidates the understanding of IL-17 family members and their roles, providing valuable insights for the development of novel immunomodulators to effectively treat inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.PMID:37670700 | DOI:10.2174/1381612829666230904150808 (Source: Current Pharmaceutical Design)

Physiological Changes in the Levels of Anti-Cytokine Autoantibodies in Early Pregnancy Are Missing in Pregnant Women with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
J Immunol Res. 2023 Aug 25;2023:5221658. doi: 10.1155/2023/5221658. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTT helper type 1 (Th1) and inflammatory cytokines play essential roles in early pregnancy and also in the pathogenesis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT). Changes in the serum level of autoantibodies to cytokines, which may be able to modulate their availability and actions have been described in several autoimmune disorders. Yet, no data are available on anti-cytokine autoantibodies either during early pregnancy or in patients with HT. The aim of the study was to measure autoantibodies to inflammatory-, Th1- and Th22-cytokines in seru...

Clinical analysis of cervical lymph node metastasis patterns and multivariate factors in differentiated thyroid carcinoma
In conclusion, there was no correlation between Hashimoto's thyroiditis and CLNM and LLNM. The present study revealed that patients with the characteristics of sex, age <35 years, tumor size >1 cm, multifocality and capsular invasion were associated with cervical LNM. The proportion of the number of central lymph node metastases to the total number of lymph nodes cleared during surgery is more than or equal to 50%, indicating a susceptibility to external cervical lymph node metastasis. The results of multivariate logistic analysis showed that male sex, multifocality, capsular invasion and CLNM were risk factors for L...

Clinical and Pathological Characteristics of Patients With Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma Coexisting With Hashimoto's Thyroiditis: A Retrospective Cohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: Our study revealed that patients with coexisting PTC and HT were younger, had smaller tumor diameters, a better prognosis, and higher positive rates and expression intensity of Ki67, than did patients with PTC alone.PMID:37643366 | DOI:10.1177/10732748231199647 (Source: Cancer Control)
