Overlap syndrome of autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cholangitis complicated with atypical hepatocellular carcinoma: a case report
ConclusionAutoimmune hepatitis, PBC and the overlap syndrome are less associated with the development of liver cirrhosis and HCC than other chronic liver diseases, especially if other risk factors are not associated. This case highlights the importance of a proper surveillance of cirrhotic patients every 6  months including abdominal ultrasound and AFP levels is crucial for an early diagnosis of a HCC. Comorbid Conditions Associated with Alopecia Areata: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: These findings corroborate and contextualize the risks across comorbidities for patients with AA. Further work should be done to identify the underlying pathophysiology and understand appropriate screening criteria.PMID:37464249 | DOI:10.1007/s40257-023-00805-4 (Source: Clinical Colorectal Cancer)

Elevated Preoperative TPO Ab Titers Decrease Risk for DTC in a Linear Fashion: A Retrospective Analysis of 1,635 cases
CONCLUSIONS: Higher TPO-Ab titers appear protective against DTC in our large multicenter cohort of patients who underwent thyroidectomies. Rising preoperative TPO-Abs titers conferred linearly increasing protection against DTC.PMID:37440589 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgad408 (Source: The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism)

NGS-based IgH gene rearrangement monitoring predicts relapse and guides maintenance therapy in DLBCL: A case report from indolent lymphoma to aggressive lymphoma
This report describes a case of extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (ENMZL) of the mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma that transformed to diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) in a 39-year-old female patient with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT). The patient presented with MALT lymphoma in the thyroid tissue and DLBCL in the multiple site invasions, including the ovary, breast, and lymph nodes. We assessed the Ig gene rearrangement and mutation profile in lymphoma involved tissues and the collected stem cells. V(D)J sequence of the tumor clonotype detected in thyroid, ovary, and breast was identical, reveal...

Warthin-like papillary thyroid carcinoma: a case report and comprehensive review of the literature
ConclusionWLPTC shares similar clinical and radiological presentations as classic PTC. The hallmark histological features of WLPTC are papillae lined with oncocytic tumor cells with papillary nuclear changes and lymphoid stroma. WLPTC is almost constantly associated with CLT. The management of WLPTC aligns with that of classic PTC with comparable stage and risk category, often resulting in favorable outcomes. (Source: Frontiers in Endocrinology)

Ultrasonographic Findings and Prognosis of Metastases to the Thyroid Gland
Ultrason Imaging. 2023 Jul 5:1617346231179620. doi: 10.1177/01617346231179620. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMetastases to the thyroid gland (MTT) are uncommon in clinical practice. The ultrasound (US) features are easily confused with primary thyroid malignancy, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and other thyroid diseases. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the role of US and analysis of prognosis of MTT. A total of 45 patients with MTT in the database between July 2009 and February 2022 at the Fujian Cancer Hospital were reviewed. US examinations were performed only on 20 patients, who were finally included in our study. Among...
