Best place to find free CME?
My employer grants 2 weeks of CME time per year. I already have all of my 150 CME credits, but I need to find some sort of course that takes approximately that amount of time to complete (i.e. roughly 80 hours total of CME). The course does not have to give official CME Credits, and does not have to just medicine (i.e. it could be public health, medical documentation, medical-legal etc.). I am having a hard time finding courses which are free or are a reasonable price. If I had to, I... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is 45 schools too much?
I’m a CA ORM, first-gen and a Disadvantaged FAP recipient (+ Pell Grant all 4 years) My stats are a 3.87/521 and I have pretty good ECs (1300+ hours of research w/ 2 posters, AmeriCorps, 300 hours volunteering with refugees etc.) + a pretty unique global-health narrative. My school list (submitted primaries to) is as follows: Albert Einstein College of Medicine Boston University School of Medicine Case Western Columbia Hofstra Duke Emory Quinnipiac Harvard Sinai Johns Hopkins Kaiser... Hopkins vs UVA vs William & Mary
Hello all! I am a community college transfer student who needs to decide very soon whether to go to Hopkins, UVA, or William and Mary. Price Comparisons: JHU: (full need-based grant for 22-23 years, but might have to study 5-6 semesters) UVA: 15k (including loans) W&M: 10k I am interested in pursuing a neuroscience degree and doing pre-med, but in the JHU portal, they said that getting my first choice of major is not guaranteed. So, if that happens, I have to go with my second choice of... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Obtaining free hyaluronidase?
Crossposting from the dermatology forum: I'm wondering if anyone has advice on how to obtain free hyaluronidase for our cosmetic teaching sessions. We have tons of filler, neurotoxin, etc, through various resident cosmetic grants, but I can't find any resources for obtaining hyaluronidase. We currently borrow it from our cosmetic attending, but it would be ideal to get our own supply for multiple reasons. Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Hey everyone! Recently got off the waitlist for Downstate and I have to make a decision soon. Would really appreciate some help in making a decision! (For a friend) Michigan vs UMiami
Hello, Making this post for a friend because he doesn't have an SDN. Notes: Location doesn't matter to him. He's interested in Ophthalmology, and Ortho (Prob 70/30) - The only factor he really cares about is he wants to go to the school that maximizes chances to match Ophthalmology His current mentor has connections at Miami He's from Canada so the cold does not affect him, but he's also Nigerian so he has experience with the heat. Michigan (40% scholarship + 21k fin aid grant) [200k... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Deciding between PsyD programs... help!
Hi All! I have gotten into a few PsyD programs and I am looking for some outsider perspectives. I already have a MA and am going to have to move no matter what program I go to. Here are the programs I have narrowed it down to: Pepperdine (tuition grant received which makes it much more doable and the program is 3 years plus internship) PCOM (received a scholarship) Mercer Appalachian State University (a new program in the process of being accredited, funded assistantship... UTHSC (Tennessee, in-state) vs University of Rochester
Tennessee: Pros -No grant-based aid (probably), but IS tuition is cheapish (35K) -The difference between the estimated COA (70k) and tuition+fees is about 30k, which is more than enough to live comfortably in Memphis -Not blisteringly cold -Can apply into 3 year MD program after matriculating (but only for FM, IM, peds, med-peds, OBGYN and psych, and would match at a UT program) Cons -Huge class size (170+) -Match list is just okay -Graded curriculum all four years with hardly any clinical... AAMC FAP Application - Include the COVID-19 Emergency Grant and/or the GEER Grant?
I hope to apply this cycle and I need financial assistance, so I hope I will get approved for the FAP (my EFC has always been zero). In the section that asks for the applicant's financials, I am not sure if the GEER Grant or COVID-19 Emergency Grant should be included as one of the financial assistances you have received anywhere, I suppose I should include it on the "total value of assistance from federal, state, or local welfare program" section or total Financial Aid section.
