Hello,
I'm a young psychiatrists from Europe being awarded a grant to take part in a CME course in psychiatry. So far I have selected the following:
1. Psychiatry Clinical Reviews 2017 in Mayo Clinic
2. Psychiatry in 2017 in Harvard Medical School
3. Psychopharmacology 2017 in Massachusetts Medical School

Academic v.s. Community
So I'm approaching application time, and it finally dawned on me. I have been somewhat productive during residency, and everyone tells me I have a very high chance of going to some of the top places. As the title states, I'm struggling with the decision of whether or not to apply this year, and would really appreciate some input.
Brief overview of the good/acceptable parts of my application:
cGPA ~3.7, sGPA ~3.65
Will take the MCAT June 1
1 year clinical volunteering (~200 hours)
2 years research (~1500 hours) between 2 labs, 3 pubs, 1 invited talk, 4 posters, honors thesis, awarded grant money, fellowship
Part-time work throughout undergrad (manual labor), 1 year...

Trump's new budget cuts
Trumps new budget proposal will cut 20% of the NIH's funding and a include a possible diversion of funds from the CDC's core budget to provide block grants for states.
