Calling Bullsh*t in the Age of "Big Data"
"Bergstrom and West are longtime scientific collaborators and have spent years grumbling about the inflated claims, manipulated algorithms, and twisted interpretations of scientific research that they see not just in the popular press, but also in grant applications and scientific papers. “We just thought, instead of griping, we could make a class — a really fun class,” Bergstrom said https://www.statnews.com/2017/02/17/science-fights-alternative-facts/ "But one... Research In Medical School: Timescale for Decisions
So I've been reflecting on the research I've done in undergrad, and feel really lucky that I got involved in a productive lab early in my academic career. If I had jumped on board junior, or senior year, I wouldn't have received a strong letter from my PI, nor would I have had such an enriching experience (presentations, grants, etc). All of these things led to one aspect of an application that is hailed to be competitive around these parts, namely, having meaningful research exposure. I... How much is to much?
One question I don't see answered much on here is about paying for PT school and the debt that comes with the journey of becoming a PT. I have no student loans from undergrad, but the schools that I could potentially attend next year are all expensive private schools. I know I want to be a PT, but I also want to be financially stable. For 3 years of school, some programs may end up costing me 125k-150k. I know there are forgiveness programs, grants, and scholarships that I can find, but a... How much is to much? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dentists working in community clinics- how many patients do you see per day?
How many patients do dentists working in community clinics in states like California/New York see each day? I believe these clinics if they are FQHCs get some federal grants. Medicaid/Dentical reimbursements are low in California. So, how many patients do you see each day and what kind of salary do these clinics generally offer? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Would medical schools consider this as research?
My senior design project for my mechanical engineer degree was an automated baseball pitching machine. We designed a computer controlled turret aiming system, ball feeder system and trajectory system with variable velocity that was controlled from an iphone. We applied for an undergraduate research grant and received two separate grants both from the research division (we had to turn down one of them because they would require position of our project). At the end of the semester, all of the... Would medical schools consider this as research? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

AP Physics Credit?
Hi I mentioned that I needed to Withdraw Orgo and take it next semester. My school awarded me Credit for physics, so I plan on using that to fulfill at least one semester of physics, and I may take a supplemental semester. Most Medical schools I've looked at in MA, NY, and PA say it's fine to use ap credit if your four year school grants it, with the pickiest saying they only accept credit that you were granted for physics only. ( Perfect !) BU says you need to explain the circumstances on... AP Physics Credit? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
