Hello everyone. My life dream is medicine, like most of you. Messed up early in college, feel like I'm messing up now. Graduated in the spring, now I'm working on ECs as a gap year.
Stats: ORM, 23 M, cGPA 3.19, sGPA 3.10 (strong upward trend for both, Fs and Ds 1st yr to 3.7ish last 2 yrs), MCAT 505 (127, 126, 128, 124). Current ECs are ~300 hrs clinical volunteering, ~100 non-clinical, about to start research in a cancer lab, briefly helped write grants for a non-profit, held a minor...

Research Fellowships in Japan?
Hey all,
Just curious if anyone knew of a research program in Japan that a medical student could get involved in with a research year. I've found Fogarty grants in Japan but they're for PhDs.

chances of being accepted
I recently took the mcat exam for a second time. I scored 509 and have a 3.97 gpa. My gap year is a year of research in a biological developmental lab and I am writing my first manuscript. I graduated college with honors in 3 years and was awarded the American Heart Association Fellowship Grant for 2016, where did a 10 week fellowship research project. What are my chances of being accepted to med school. Last year I was not accepted but my mcat was lower and I di not have the year of research. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Chances at residency with low scores
Hi everyone,
I'm writing on behalf of my fiance.
He's an IMG, graduated 2 year ago. Within these 2 years he's done residency in his home country and took the steps.
His step 1 score was 203 and his step 2 ck is 227. He's going to be taking CS in November and starting next month he's going to be doing research at a pretty good university (he got a grant).
With regards to USCE he's done 1 month observership at family medicine office but he's planning on applying for some hospital...

List travel grants on CV?
I've been told to list research grants if I receive them. What about travel grants to conferences (registration, hotel, flight, food, etc.)? It's something that I had to apply and ostensibly compete for at my school. Is that worth putting on a CV?
