Incidence of anxiety disorder among adults with hidradenitis suppurativa
CONCLUSIONS: HS is independently associated with increased risk of anxiety disorders. An increased risk remains, but is attenuated, when controlling for confounders. The relative risk may be particularly high among patients managed by dermatologists.PMID:38564268 | DOI:10.1093/bjd/ljae139 (Source: The British Journal of Dermatology)

IJERPH, Vol. 21, Pages 428: Associations of Anxiety, Insomnia, and Physical Activity during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Conclusions: Insomnia and anxiety were interrelated, and effects were cross-lagged. These data can inform future work focused on improving anxiety in settings of acute stress and disruptions to daily life, such as changes in occupational structure and stability. Specifically, targeting sleep parameters may be of interest to elicit downstream positive health behaviors. (Source: International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health)

Relationship between the Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended and Measures of Disability, Function, Participation, Psychosocial Symptoms & Life Satisfaction Following Moderate-Severe Traumatic Brain Injury
First, to determine the relationship between the Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended (GOSE) and other measures of global function (Functional Independence Measure [FIM], Disability Rating Scale [DRS]) post traumatic brain injury (TBI). Second, to determine the relationship between GOSE and participation (Participation Assessment of Recombined Tools Objective [PARTO]), psychosocial (Patient Health Questionnaire-9 [PHQ9], Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 [GAD7]), and life satisfaction (Satisfaction with Life Scale [SWLS]) outcomes post-TBI. Sleep duration and social jetlag in healthy adolescents. Association with anxiety, depression, and chronotype: a pilot study
CONCLUSION: Adolescents are sleep-deprived and have a high prevalence of SJL that is positively correlated with depressive symptoms and evening chronotype. That evening chronotypes have shorter sleep duration, more severe SJL, and significantly more sleepiness and insomnia, anxiety, and depressive symptoms may indicate possible benefits in identifying this group with the aim to assist them in improving their sleep habits with potentially positive effects on mental health.PMID:38546939 | DOI:10.1007/s11325-024-03026-z (Source: Sleep and Breathing)
