The affect of stress and lack of sleep on health of people in medicine?
The research on how much poor/lack of sleep + stress can affect the body and increase your risk of multiple types of diseases (dementia, cancer, metabolic syndrome, etc) are vast and well supported. Today, this thought hit me hard when I thought back about how many of my friends in med school have become overweight with a beer gut, getting into the territory of anorexia, or worsening health status.
