Should I apply out of my BS/MD program?
I'm currently in a 7-year BS/MD program at a school in Florida. I get in-state tuition. I just got my MCAT scores back today. I got a 517 with a 3.96 GPA. Should I stay in my program or apply out to other med schools? I did a SURF fellowship one summer, vice president of a club that teaches music to dementia patients, was a tutor in organic chemistry for a year, 1st place in an international medical competition (HOSA)... I am in a restricted program, so if I apply out, I will lose my... Should I apply out of my BS/MD program? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dealing with borderline patients
Any tips? I work super hard in my program. Currenrly on inpatient psych. I get a good feeling when I help my manics stabilize somewhat, or when I improve family dynamics for the older post stroke pt with signs of dementia. But man, dealing with this one patient has been a bit painful. She has a formal dx of borderline and even without knowning that it was very easy to see she was borderline given how vague her story was, and how she would change parts of it often. Not too mention several... Dealing with borderline patients (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is this good leadership exp? CNA/med tech supervisor work
I'm working as a CNA in a dementia care long term care unit, and about four months after starting (this is my first clinical job) I've been offered a promotion to be the shift supervisor and be in charge of passing meds, giving shots, admin stuff for my particular shift, etc. There is still a coordinator/manager on duty and I'll sometimes work the floor but other CNAs report to me first. Is this considered good leadership experience? I'm not involved in many clubs and probably won't end up... Is this good leadership exp? CNA/med tech supervisor work (Source: Student Doctor Network)

confused about pseudodementia diagnosis!
Does pseudo dementia need to meet the same diagnostic criteria as MDD? (Depression or anhedonia + 5 of SIGECAPS) I came across an NBME question where an elderly woman presented with memory loss, and trouble sleeping etc... but there was NO mention of "feeling depressed" or irritability etc. Also no mention of whether her interest in hobbies/activites etc had changed. The correct answer was MDD. I counted her sx and it seemed like she did NOT meet the strict definition of MDD that... confused about pseudodementia diagnosis! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
