Pax8 as a useful adjunct marker to differentiate pancreatic serous cystadenoma from clear cell renal cell carcinoma in both cytologic and surgical specimens
Histomorphological differentiation between pancreatic serous cystadenoma (SCA) and clear cell renal cell carcinoma (RCC) can be challenging. We aimed to study Paired box 8 protein (Pax8) expression profile in ... (Source: Diagnostic Pathology)

Pancreatic Cysts
This article reviews the types of pancreatic cysts encountered in Radiologic practice. It summarizes the malignancy risk of each of the following: serous cystadenoma, mucinous cystic tumor, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm main duct and side branch, and some miscellaneous cysts such as neuroendocrine tumor and solid pseudopapillary epithelial neoplasm. Specific reporting recommendations are given. The choice between radiology follow-up versus endoscopic analysis is discussed. (Source: Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics of North America)

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 2216: Rare Non-Neuroendocrine Pancreatic Tumours
j Deptała The most common tumour of the pancreas is ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). It remains one of the most lethal non-neuroendocrine solid tumours despite the use of a multi-approach strategy. Other, less-common neoplasms, which are responsible for 15% of pancreatic lesions, differ in treatment and prognosis. Due to the low incidence rate, there is a lack of information about the rarest pancreatic tumours. In this review, we described six rare pancreatic tumours: intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN), mucinous cystadenoma (MCN), serous cystic neoplasm (SCN), acinar cell carcinoma (ACC), solid pseudopapillar...

Fibroblast Activation Protein Inhibitor PET in Pancreatic Cancer
Radiolabeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) has been introduced as a promising PET tracer for imaging of pancreatic cancer. To date, FAPI PET/computed tomography (CT) has generally but not universally yielded higher radiotracer uptake and tumor-to-background contrast than 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose PET/CT in primary tumors, involved lymph nodes, and visceral metastases. It may also be useful for the evaluation of the tumor response to chemotherapy. However, increased FAPI uptake may be observed in benign conditions, including pancreatitis, pancreatic tuberculosis, IgG4-related disease, and serous cystadenoma, a...

A Curious Case Of Subclavian Occlusion Presenting With Dyspnea On Exertion
We present the case of a 59-year-old woman who was referred to our clinic with dyspnea on exertion. Her medical history was significant for high grade serous papillary cystadenoma of the ovary, pulmonary and mediastinal sarcoidosis, negative workup for cardiac sarcoid with an MRI. She suffered a provoked DVT of her left subclavian vein from a port for chemotherapy treated with apixaban, with residual subtotal occlusion. Around the time of this DVT diagnosis, she noticed profound dyspnea on exertion with drop in blood oxygen saturation to about 82%. (Source: Journal of Cardiac Failure)

Case report: Obstructive jaundice caused by biliary cystadenoma
Biliary cystadenoma (also called mucinous cystic neoplasm with low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia) is a rare cystic tumor that arises from the biliary epithelium. The cause of biliary cystadenoma is still unclear. Jaundice is a rare presentation of intrahepatic biliary cystadenoma, which can lead to a diagnostic dilemma. Herein, we present a case of intrahepatic biliary cystadenoma that primarily exhibited as jaundice. A 56-year-old woman has suffered from yellow staining of her skin and sclera for more than 1 month. She had a poor appetite and mild epigastric pain. Laboratory examination showed elevated levels of total b...

Primary retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma: A case report with review of literature
CONCLUSION: Mucinous cystadenoma is a very odd finding in the retroperitoneum. Multiple differential diagnoses are to be considered beforehand, as most of cystic lesions in this anatomical region are malignant and require a different surgical approach. Radical resection, by laparotomy or laparoscopy, is the treatment of choice.PMID:36582890 | PMC:PMC9793114 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2022.104818 (Source: Annals of Medicine)
