Sequential thermal ablation in combination with sclerotherapy using lauromacrogol as a successful translative therapy for an unresectable huge biliary cystadenocarcinoma: The first experience assisted by contrast-enhanced ultrasound
In conclusion, sequential thermal ablation in combination with sclerotherapy provides a successful translative therapy for this unresectable huge BCAC with a poor general condition, which makes subsequent curative surgery or ablation possible.PMID:35662112 | DOI:10.3233/CH-221466 (Source: Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation)

Ectopic ovarian serous cystadenoma mimicking hydrosalpinx
A 31-year-old woman presented with intermittent pelvic pain and a cystic mass in the cul-de-sac. She was found to have a septate uterus and an absent left ovary without congenital abnormalities of the kidney and urinary tract during her cesarean section 4 years ago. Her transvaginal sonography showed a tubular cystic mass consistent with hydrosalpinx, sized 8.0cm x 4.2cm x 3.5cm. (Fig. 1). Her complete blood count and tumor markers were all normal. 120 Diagnostic approach in pediatric patients with abnormal ovarian masses
We report a case of 17-year-old, who suffer from pelvic pain. During examination a large 24  × 12 cm pelvic mass was discovered. In the suspicion of malignant tumor initially median laparotomy approach was chosen. Laparotomy showed a tumor in right ovary and very narrow strand of grey mass in a location of the left ovary. Right salpingo-oophorectomy was performed. Histopathological analysis revealed mucinous cystadenoma. (Source: European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology)

Synchronous Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST) with pancreatic adenocarcinoma: A case report
CONCLUSION: The coexistence of GIST with pancreatic adenocarcinoma is a rare condition. High clinical analysis needed during laparotomy for GIST to detect a synchronous tumor. In a case of GIST the surgeon should recognize the possibility of another tumor with different histological origin. Surgical excision is the mainstay of therapy and it has proven to be curative for our patient. . Due to its rare occurrence and limited literature further studies has to be done on GIST with other synchronous tumor to help the surgeon to manage the patient optimally.PMID:35638052 | PMC:PMC9142392 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2022.103588 (Source...

Cystic Lesions of the Pancreas: Is Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Value Useful at 3 T Magnetic Resonance Imaging?
The objective of this study is to determine the role of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value at 3T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the characterization of pancreatic cystic lesions. Methods We retrospectively selected a total number of 223 patients with a conclusive diagnosis of pancreatic cystic lesion, previously undergoing MR examination on a 3 T system. The MRI protocol first included axial T1/T2-weighted sequences and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography. Diffusion-weighted MRI was performed using a spin-echo echo-planar sequence with multiple b values (0, 150, 500, 1000, and 1500 s/mm2) in all...

Multiple Intraabdominal and Pelvic Cystadenomas From Ovarian Remnant Syndrome
Am Surg. 2022 Apr 29:31348221091962. doi: 10.1177/00031348221091962. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSerous cystadenomas are benign epithelial neoplasms of the ovary, and they typically have an average size of around 10 cm. Our patient is a 68-year-old female who originally presented with abdominal page. Our patient's prior surgical history includes a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Computed tomography scans showed five abdominal and pelvic masses of significant size. Our patient elected to undergo exploratory laparotomy and mass excision, and all five masses were able to be removed successfully. Final pathology confirmed t...
