Efficacy and safety of rademikibart (CBP-201), a next-generation monoclonal antibody targeting IL-4R α, in adults with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis: a phase 2 randomized trial (CBP-201-WW001)
CONCLUSION: Rademikibart was efficacious and well tolerated at Q2W and Q4W intervals. Q4W dosing is a more convenient frequency than approved for current therapies.PMID:38157942 | DOI:10.1016/j.jaci.2023.11.924 (Source: Herpes)

A fractional modeling approach for the transmission dynamics of measles with double-dose vaccination
This study examines a SEIVR compartmental model in the caputo sense using a double dose of vaccine to simulate the measles outbreak. The reproduction number R0 and model properties are both thoroughly examined. Both the local and global stabilities of the proposed model are determined for R0 less and greater than 1. To achieve the model's global stability, the Lyapunov function is used while the existence and uniqueness of the proposed model are demonstrated In addition to the calculated and fitted biological parameters, the forward sensitivity indices for R0 are also obtained. Simulations of the proposed fractional order ...

Impact of black soot emissions on public health in Niger Delta, Nigeria: understanding the severity of the problem
Inhal Toxicol. 2023 Dec 25:1-13. doi: 10.1080/08958378.2023.2297698. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTRivers State, Niger Delta, Nigeria often referred to as the 'treasure bed of the nation' is the seat of crude oil production activities with the accompanying environmental degradation. The severity of the environmental pollution and contaminated air quality took a new turn for the worse in November 2016, when the residents of Port Harcourt city, Rivers State, a major oil producing State experienced for the first time, aerosol deposition of plumes of black soot. This systematic review paper is aimed at quantifying the severity...

Atopic Dermatitis and the Risk of Infection in End-Stage Renal Disease
Conclusions: Overall, after controlling for demographic and clinical covariates and adjusting for person-years-at-risk, AD was associated with an increased risk for some, but not all, infections within the population of patients with ESRD.PMID:38138248 | DOI:10.3390/medicina59122145 (Source: Herpes)

Frequency of feline herpesvirus 1 (FHV-1) in domestic cats from Campo Grande, MS, Brazil
An Acad Bras Cienc. 2023 Dec 15;95(suppl 2):e20221010. doi: 10.1590/0001-3765202320221010. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTFeline herpesvirus type 1 (HVF-1) is the infectious agent of feline viral rhinotracheitis. The main clinical signs are cough, nasal and eye discharge, fever, conjunctivitis and sneezing. Although the occurrence of the virus is known in some regions of Brazil, in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), there is no epidemiological information about its frequency. Thus, this study aimed to determine the frequency of feline herpesvirus type 1 in the region, and to evaluate its possible association with clinical an...
