Radiotherapy plus temozolomide with or without anlotinib in H3K27M-mutant diffuse midline glioma: A retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: This study first reported that anlotinib combined with Stupp regimen is a safe and feasible regimen for newly diagnosed patients with H3K27M-DMG. Further, anlotinib showed significant efficacy for H3K27M-DMG located in the infratentorial region.PMID:38644565 | PMC:PMC11033330 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14730 (Source: CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics)

Meningeal Lymphatics in Central Nervous System Diseases
Annu Rev Neurosci. 2024 Apr 22. doi: 10.1146/annurev-neuro-113023-103045. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSince its recent discovery, the meningeal lymphatic system has reshaped our understanding of central nervous system (CNS) fluid exchange, waste clearance, immune cell trafficking, and immune privilege. Meningeal lymphatics have also been demonstrated to functionally modify the outcome of neurological disorders and their responses to treatment, including brain tumors, inflammatory diseases such as multiple sclerosis, CNS injuries, and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Standard therapy or additionally radioactive iodine (131I) therapy; which will stop the recurrence of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM)?
Endokrynol Pol. 2024 Apr 22. doi: 10.5603/ep.98240. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTGlioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive malignant brain tumour. The average survival time for a patient diagnosed with GBM, using standard treatment methods, is several months. Authors of the article pose a direct question: Is it possible to treat GBM solely with radioactive iodine (¹³¹I) therapy without employing the sodium iodide symporter (NIS) gene? After all, NIS has been detected not only in the thyroid but also in various tumours. The main author of this article (A.C.), with the assistance of her colleagues (physicians ...

Patient-specific temperature distribution prediction in laser interstitial thermal therapy: single-irradiation data-driven method
Phys Med Biol. 2024 Apr 22. doi: 10.1088/1361-6560/ad4194. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLaser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) has been popular for treating brain tumours and epilepsy. The strict control of tissue thermal damage extent is crucial for LITT. Temperature prediction is useful for predicting thermal damage extent. Accurately predicting in vivo brain tissue temperature is challenging due to the temperature dependence and the individual variations in tissue properties. Considering these factors is essential for improving the temperature prediction accuracy.OBJECTIVE: To present a method for predicting patient...

Remote neuropsychological assessment of patients with neurological disorders and injuries--a study protocol for a cross-sectional case-control validation study
This study protocol describes a cross-sectional study aimed at validating the newly developed digitalized neuropsychological test battery Mindmore Remote in patients with neurological disorders and injuries. Diagnoses comprise traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, brain tumour and epilepsy. 50 patients in each patient group will be included. In addition, 50 healthy controls will be recruited. All participants will undergo both testing with Mindmore Remote at home and traditional neuropsychological assessment face-to-face in a randomised order. The primary outcome is the association ...
