Patient delay to diagnosis and its predictors among colorectal cancer patients: A cross-sectional study based on the Theory of Planned Behavior
CONCLUSIONS: Patient delay was considerable in individuals with colorectal cancer in China. Factors associated with patient delay are complex in Chinese culture. To shorten patient delay, culturally sensitive interventions may be required to improve knowledge, alleviate cancer stigma, enhance self-efficacy to seek medical attention, and promote positive help-seeking behaviors.PMID:35952459 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejon.2022.102174 (Source: European Journal of Oncology Nursing)

Improving the management of early colorectal cancers (eCRC) by using quantitative markers to predict lymph node involvement and thus the need for major resection of pT1 cancers
Conclusions In this study, we were able to reduce the potential resection rate of pT1 with the multivariate qualitative and/or quantitative model to 34% or 35% while detecting 95% or 90% of all LNM cases, respectively. While these findings need to be validated, this model could lead to a reduction of the major resection rate in eCRC. (Source: Journal of Clinical Pathology)

Rare Histologies and Infrequent Indications for Cytoreductive Surgery and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy
CONCLUSION: Based on the encouraging results in some test groups, especially in rare ovarian cancer, CUP, small bowel cancer and recurrent mesothelioma, multicenter prospective studies examining such rare tumour histologies are needed to reach a higher number of cases and, thus, explore the impact of multimodal therapy on these patients.PMID:35790287 | DOI:10.21873/anticanres.15857 (Source: Cell Research)

Talking about Health: Community Ambassadors as a Health Promotion Strategy to Increase Breast and Bowel Cancer Screening in Regional Australia
CONCLUSIONS: Existing community communication lines can be used to assist in delivering public health messages among high-risk and vulnerable population groups. Utilising community ambassadors is identified as a health promotion method for hard to reach populations. SO WHAT?: Conversations about health and screening amongst community members, and led by community members, play a key role in shaping engagement with cancer screening programs and represent an important site for health promotion activities. These findings have implications for future public health initiatives amongst high risk groups in regional locations.PMID...
