Diagnosis of neuroborreliosis in the context of local seroprevalence: A chart review study and a methodological overview
CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that recombinant antigen-based two-tier serology from solely the sera might have sufficient positive predictive value to verify NB in young individuals with characteristic anamnestic data in our region. When parallel serum-CSF testing is warranted, AI should have priority. IgG and albumin concentrations in the both serum and the CSF, the potential time of exposure and the nature and duration of symptoms form the bare minimal set of data for conclusive testing.PMID:38174513 | DOI:10.4103/0972-9062.374040 (Source: Journal of Vector Borne Diseases)

Recombinant protein immunoblots for differential diagnosis of tick-borne relapsing fever and Lyme disease
This article reviews the application of line immunoblots (IBs), where recombinant proteins applied as lines on nitrocellulose membrane strips are used to detect antibodies in patient sera, for the diagnosis and differentiation of LD and TBRF.PMID:38174512 | DOI:10.4103/0972-9062.383641 (Source: Journal of Vector Borne Diseases)
