Characterization of Central and Nasal Orbital Adipose Stem Cells and their Neural Differentiation Footprints
CONCLUSION: We suggested the explant method of culture as an easy and suitable method for the expansion of OASCs. Our findings denote mesenchymal properties of both central and nasal OASCs, while mesenchymal and neural characteristics were expressed stronger in nasal OASCs when compared to central ones. These findings can be added to the literature when cell transplantation is targeted in the treatment of neuro-retinal degenerative disorders.PMID:37670706 | DOI:10.2174/1574888X19666230905114246 (Source: Cell Research)

Comparison of Blepharoplasty Techniques Between Caucasian and East Asian Patients: A Retrospective Chart Review
Dermatochalasis is defined as eyelid skin redundancy and is generally considered as the result of an involutional loss of skin laxity and tone. 1 It is often treated with blepharoplasty surgery with excision of the redundant skin and pre-aponeurotic fat.2 East Asian blepharoplasty has been studied in great detail due to the difference in East Asian upper eyelid anatomy compared to Caucasians. However, there is still limited evidence on the direct comparison between East Asian and Caucasian population, especially the surgical management and the outcome of upper eyelid blepharoplasty. Misdiagnosis and Treatment of Corneal Complications Caused by Suture Exposure After Buried-Suture Double-Eyelid Blepharoplasty
ConclusionIf there is postoperative eye discomfort caused by eyelid and corneal complications in patients after buried-suture double-eyelid blepharoplasty, clinicians should carefully check whether there is suture exposure and determine the cause in a timely manner. Suture removal is the best way to treat this complication.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Comparisons of the Fusion Point of Orbital Septum and Levator Aponeurosis in Patients with and Without Mild Ptosis
ConclusionThe height of aponeurosis fusion of orbital septum and levator palpebrae superioris in mild ptosis group was higher than that in normal group, which may be the cause of mild ptosis. It is suggested that the appropriate treatment of orbital septum in clinical operation may be effective in the treatment of mild blepharoptosis.Level of Evidence IIIThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Lower Eyelid Complication After Blepharoplasty and COVID-19 Vaccination
ConclusionsIn the reported case, an evident chronological relationship exists between surgical site and vaccine reaction, while other etiopathogenetic factors were excluded. This case represents a previously undescribed condition linking postvaccination reaction and long-term surgical outcome.Level of Evidence VThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Correction of Sunken Upper Eyelid in Asian Blepharoplasty Based on Anatomical and Histological Study of Orbital Fat Fascia Flap
ConclusionThe transposition of orbital fat fascia flap with longitudinal separation and preservation of fascia vascular pedicle can better correct the sunken upper eyelid during blepharoplasty, and the long-term effect is stable, which is worthy of clinical promotion.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. A Quantitative Three-Dimensional Tear Trough Deformity Assessment and Its Application in Orbital Septum Fat Transposition
ConclusionsWe demonstrated a novel quantitative evaluation method of the tear trough deformity using three-dimensional stereophotogrammetry and proved it to be valid and reliable. It showed good value of clinical application and might help with periorbital rejuvenation planning and outcome assessment.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Correction of Primary Multiple Upper Eyelid Folds by Three Mini-Incision Upper Blepharoplasty and Simultaneous Orbital Fat Pad Repositioning in East Asians
ConclusionsThe three mini-incision double-eyelid blepharoplasty combined with simultaneous orbital fat repositioning is an effective method for correcting primary multiple upper eyelid folds. This technique presents a novel alternative for patients with primary multiple eyelid folds, particularly those who are hesitant to undergo a full-incision double-eyelid procedure.Level of Evidence IV This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article.
