Comparison of two techniques for surgical eyebrow suspension
CONCLUSION: Both ESN and IBF resulted in a high degree of patient satisfaction. Both techniques provided similar brow suspension, emphasizing that IBF is technically easier to perform and produces less scarring.PMID:35850884 | DOI:10.1016/j.jfo.2022.03.011 (Source: Journal Francais d Ophtalmologie)

Prelamination of the Radial Forearm Free Flap Using Free Full-Thickness Eyelid Skin Grafts: A New Approach for Intraoral Defect Reconstruction
Free flap transfer for reconstruction of intraoral defects is a common procedure in oral and maxillofacial surgery. For tumor-related defects, the radial forearm flap is widely used for soft tissue restoration. However, transfer of free skin grafts to the donor site region is often required for wound closure after free flap harvesting, resulting in esthetic disturbances due to shrinkage of the grafted skin, attendant scarring, or mismatches in skin texture or color. Furthermore, free flap transfer may result in hair follicle transfer into the oral cavity, causing unfavorable intraoral hair growth in adult men in particular...

Evidence-Based Blepharoplasty: An Analysis of Highly Cited Research Papers
Conclusions: Despite a significant impact on current practice, the level of evidence of the highly cited blepharoplasty research was predominantly low. Robust research methodology, through well-designed studies and standardized outcome measures, is necessary to facilitate evidence synthesis and guide clinical practice. Orbital Sarcoidosis Masquerading as Late Postoperative Blepharoplasty Complication: A Case Report
We report a case of orbital sarcoidosis where diagnosis was complicated by a history of lower eyelid blepharoplasty. The patient presented with progressive swelling of the left lower eyelid, which was assumed to be a late complication of her surgery. After failing multiple treatments, MRI orbits was obtained and revealed an enhancing lesion in the left orbit inseparable from the lacrimal gland and inferior oblique muscle. Biopsy showed noncaseating granulomatous inflammation, and the patient was eventually diagnosed with sarcoidosis. (Source: Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery)

Depth of Upper Lid Crease Construction in Asian Blepharoplasty
Summary: The elegance of retrospective analysis of crease construction based on the levels of attachment is that it may be used to correlate a crease’s construction method with an outcome of crease depth based on medical record review. It expands on the current knowledge beyond simply describing a crease as being superficial or deep, and is useful for objective analysis of a technique’s merit.
