Wheat and grain elimination, followed by vitamin D restoration and correction of bowel flora distortions (that are the rule in autoimmune diseases and must be corrected to restore normal intestinal permeability), should be the first default steps with the diagnosis of any autoimmune condition. Doing such easy, inexpensive, natural things does not, of course, preclude adding toxic drugs that do such things as cause extravagant weight gain and can lead to liver failure.
