A Randomized, Controlled Neuroimaging Trial of Cognitive ‐Behavioral Therapy for Fibromyalgia Pain
ConclusionOur results suggest clinically important and CBT-specific associations between somatosensory/motor- and salience-processing brain regions and the default mode network in chronic pain. These patterns of connectivity may contribute to individual differences (and treatment-related changes) in somatic self-awareness. CBT appears to provide clinical benefits at least partially by reducing pain-related catastrophizing and producing adaptive alterations in default mode network functional connectivity.

Dismissed from DPT program. Chances and Tips for getting into another program?
Hello everyone, I was dismissed from my DPT program because of my mental health issues (Social Anxiety stemming from a birth defect). I tried to juggle bettering my mental health issues at the same time of being a DPT student, but I bit off more than I could chew and was dismissed from my program. I am taking a break to focus on my mental health issues and get to the point where my SA is managed and I learn to accept my appearance. Once I feel like I am ready, I want to reapply for DPT... Community College vs. University for Science Prereqs
Hello! I'm about to graduate from an AS of Nursing program with a 4.0. Even though my program is a community college program, it's known to be one of the most intense and rigorous programs in the region, and I think(?) I'm the only student in my cohort that got a 4.0, so I'm feeling confident about it on my medical school application. That said, I'm comfortable at my college and was wondering if medical school admissions faculty would look poorly on my application if I did my Physics, Gen... Read more

MS1 and I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail my first block exam in a week. Should I just drop out?
I am struggling a lot in med school. There is much material to cover and our school has so much school specific stuff that doing Anki alone isn't helping much. I am pretty sure I am going to fail the exam next week and feel like no matter what I do I will not have enough time. I have been at or near the minimum pass level for all of our quizzes. It is going to take a miracle for me to pass and I just feel like I don't have enough time. At our school, failing an exam requires retaking it... Read more
