Effect of robotic-assisted gait training on gait and motor function in spinal cord injury: a protocol of a systematic review with meta-analysis
Introduction Robotic-assisted gait training (RAGT) has been reported to be effective in rehabilitating patients with spinal cord injury (SCI). However, studies on RAGT showed different results due to a varied number of samples. Thus, summarising studies based on robotic-related factors is critical for the accurate estimation of the effects of RAGT on SCI. This work aims to search for strong evidence showing that using RAGT is effective in treating SCI and analyse the deficiencies of current studies. Methods and analysis The following publication databases were electronically searched in December 2022 without restrictions ...

Generalizing biological surround suppression based on center surround similarity via deep neural network models
by Xu Pan, Annie DeForge, Odelia Schwartz Sensory perception is dramatically influenced by the context. Models of contextual neural surround effects in vision have mostly accounted for Primary Visual Cortex (V1) data, via nonlinear computations such as divisive normalization. However, surround effects are not well understood within a hierarchy, for neurons with more complex stimulus selectivity beyond V1. We utilized feedforward deep convolutional neural networks and developed a gradient-based technique to visualize the most suppressive and excitatory surround. We found that deep neural networks exhibited a key signature ...

Classification of breast lesions in ultrasound images using deep convolutional neural networks: transfer learning versus automatic architecture design
AbstractDeep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs) have demonstrated promising performance in classifying breast lesions in 2D ultrasound (US) images. Exiting approaches typically use pre-trained models based on architectures designed for natural images with transfer learning. Fewer attempts have been made to design customized architectures specifically for this purpose. This paper presents a comprehensive evaluation on transfer learning based solutions and automatically designed networks, analyzing the accuracy and robustness of different recognition models in three folds. First, we develop six different DCNN models (BNet...

Sensors, Vol. 23, Pages 8032: Simplifying Rogowski Coil Modeling: Simulation and Experimental Verification
Peretto The integration of renewable energy sources, electric vehicles, and other electrical assets has introduced complexities in monitoring and controlling power networks. Consequently, numerous grid nodes have been equipped with sensors and complex measurement systems to enhance network observability. Additionally, real-time power network simulators have become crucial tools for predicting and estimating the behavior of electrical quantities at different network components, such as nodes, branches, and assets. In this paper, a new user-friendly model for Rogowski coils is presented and validated. The model&r...

Harbor-UCLA on Probation??
Hey there. I am choosing programs to signal, and I want to end up in LA. I discovered that Harbor-UCLA as an institution was put on probation this summer. Their leadership posted a message on their site that they are working to rectify the issues promptly pointed out by the ACGME. I was curious if any had any thoughts on this or Harbor-UCLA in general? Is this a significant red flag? Being from the East Coast, I'm not familiar with the institution.

1.5 Months into D1, AMA
Hey predents, as the cycle is just starting to heat up, I thought I'd try and extend a little AMA for you guys. I'm about a month and a half into my D1 year at the University of Minnesota. I realize this isn't a full year under the belt. Still, even before I started I was pretty nervous about how to manage the dense courseload, transition to being a professional student, work/life balance, taking out a ton of money in loans/finances (and how that all works), and of course, the dreaded...
