Differentiated vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia long ‐term follow up and prognostic factors: An analysis of a large historical cohort
ConclusionsPatients with dVIN have a high risk of developing both primary and recurring VSCC. Early recognition, long-term follow up, and compliant ultrapotent topical corticosteroid treatment are recommended. (Source: Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica)

Exploring the potential prompting role of cervical human papilloma virus detection in vulvar lesions: a cross-sectional study in China
ConclusionsChinese women may be at specific, high risk for HPV infection types associated with VIN or CIN. The use of cervical cell HPV detection along with vulvar presentation during cervical cancer screening may also contribute to vulvar lesion detection. (Source: Frontiers in Oncology)

High concordance of molecular subtyping between pre-surgical biopsy and surgical resection specimen (matched-pair analysis) in patients with vulvar squamous cell carcinoma using p16- and p53-immunostaining
CONCLUSIONS: Compared to the final resections specimen, the three-tiered molecular classification of VSCC can be determined on pre-surgical biopsies with a high accuracy rate. This enables more precise surgical planning, prediction of the response to (chemo) radiation, selection of targeted therapies and planning of the optimal follow-up strategy for patients in the age of personalised medicine.PMID:38342005 | DOI:10.1016/j.ygyno.2024.02.001 (Source: Gynecologic Oncology)

A large sample-based case-control study of related risk factors of two types of lichenoid vulvar disease (LVD)
CONCLUSION: The incidence about lichenoid vulvar disease is influenced by various factors such as dietary habits, living environment, mental stress, concomitant diseases, hormone levels and so on, and there were no significant differences in these factors between VLS and VLSC except for income, work stress, systemic immune diseases, and menopause.PMID:38100936 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.12.002 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

CO2 laser, radiofrequency, and promestriene in the treatment of genitourinary syndrome of menopause in breast cancer survivors: a histomorphometric evaluation of the vulvar vestibule
CONCLUSIONS: Laser, radiofrequency, and promestriene delivered comparable, significant symptom improvements among women with breast cancer receiving adjuvant therapy. These treatments did not cause structural tissue damage or other clinical complications.PMID:37963315 | DOI:10.1097/GME.0000000000002274 (Source: Cancer Control)

Recurrence of Metastatic Crohn's Disease after Surgical Resection
Skinmed. 2023 Nov 10;21(5):366-369. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTA 36-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with a 1-day history of purulent perianal and vulvar discharge. She had a 25-year history of Crohn's disease (CD), and 13 years prior had received a total colectomy with end ileostomy. She had vulvar biopsies 5 years prior to presentation, demonstrating noncaseating granulomas consistent with metastatic Crohn's disease (MCD). Throughout the course of her disease, she had a failed treatment with adalimumab, certolizumab, methotrexate, and 6-mercaptopurine. She had received a radical vulvectomy 1 year prior ...
