Endovascular treatment strategy and clinical outcome of tentorial dural arteriovenous fistula
ConclusionEndovascular treatment of tentorial dural arteriovenous fistulas is safe and effective. Reduction of the Borden or Cognard classification via eliminating cortical venous reflux through multi-staged embolization or combined open surgery is a reasonable goal of treatment where complete obliteration of the fistula is not achievable. Analysis of etiology and clinical features of spontaneous downbeat nystagmus: a retrospective study
ConclusionIn our study, DBN patients have a relative decrease in posterior semicircular canal gain, which is possibly a particular result found in a subset of downbeat nystagmus patients. The changes in nystagmus during positional testing may be helpful in distinguishing between peripheral and central causes. (Source: Frontiers in Neurology)

The Nystagmus of BPPV Never “Beats Horizontally in One Direction”
The recently published Clinical Review article about diagnosis of posterior circulation stroke in its original ePub form contained an important factual error (1). The authors stated, “the nystagmus in benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) almost always beats horizontally in one direction.” This is an incorrect characterization. Subjective and objective responses to caloric stimulation help separate vestibular migraine from other vestibular disorders
ConclusionPerceptual differences between VM and non-VM patients during caloric stimulation indicate that subjective ratings during caloric testing are meaningful measures. Combining objective and subjective measures could provide optimal separation of VM from MD. (Source: Journal of Neurology)
