Question about timing and submitting additional LOR
This may be a silly question, but are letters of recommendation submitted all together with the primary application? I would like to submit my primary as soon as possible, but I anticipate that one of my letters will not be finished until much later. As of right now, all the "minimum" recommended letters (2 science, 1 non-science, 1 research) that I have are ready to send as soon as AMCAS allows for submission, but another strong letter I hope to include won't be ready until around much... UCLA Medical School in Crisis
I am a faculty member at UCLA and while this is my first post I think everyone will quickly understand why I want to remain anonymous. I also realize that when someone posts something like this as their first post everyone should be openly skeptical of the post and try to understand what motives the poster has. My motives are simple, I think the administration at UCLA medical school have made some major changes to the curriculum that are detrimental to the medical school and the students. If... UCSF vs Yale
Hi guys, Lurker here but I have just about a week to decide. Thanks in advance! UCSF (In-State + aid = $220k total COA) Pros -Bay area native (1 hr from family) -Cheaper ($150k difference) -Incredible prestige in medicine -Love the vibes -Complete P/F + no AOA Cons -Less known on the East Coast? (I spoke with a few older laymen, and they hadn't really heard of the place) -SF not as vibrant as NYC, which is closer to New Haven -No undergrad campus; am going straight... FTC bans noncompete clauses
Any thoughts on this? I personally am excited for this because the thought of someone telling me I essentially can’t work in my home city or elsewhere because I left their employment is disgusting to me. I’m glad it’s happening before I graduate and finish residency since that will give time for litigation to sort all this out. I’m interested to see if there will be some pushback from hospitals pretending to be non-profits, but who may not want a closer look from the FTC... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Contact for activity
I did some volunteering through a school club tutoring hard of hearing children via zoom, but I'm not sure who to put as the contact for my work/activities section. Would I put the president of the club? He's graduated now and I'm not sure if I can get ahold of him, but I didn't do the volunteering directly through the tutoring program so I don't think i'd be able to put them as my contact either? What do we think (Source: Student Doctor Network)
