2023-2024 NJMS vs Hackensack vs Hofstra vs Stony Brook
Hi! So I am very fortunate to have received 4 acceptances this cycle from NJMS, Stony Brook, Hackensack, and Hofstra but I am having a lot of trouble choosing one medical school and the deadline to hold only one acceptance is coming up very soon so I’d appreciate any advice or insight on the matter. All the schools are pretty similarly ranked and price of the med school including scholarships are overall very similar. NJMS: Pros: - established school - able to commute from home to... WAMC- Looking for guidance 510, 3.85 CA resident
Hi guys, so I got my MCAT back today and was slightly disappointed with my results. I am looking for some guidance if I should take an extra gap year to build my ECs more since my score was not quite what I was hoping. CA ORM, from UC school, from central valley GPA: 3.85, science GPA will be about the same I haven't exactly calculated it yet MCAT: 510 (126/126/126/132) I am disappointed in myself, was consistently getting 130/131 on C/P and B/B during practice tests, but I am not sure if... Meet the private doctor to the wealthy — at $40,000 a year
The rise of family office-style medical practices reflects the surge in wealth and growing demand for hyper-personalized, data-driven health care. www.cnbc.com Come to think of this, it always felt awkward to be reimbursed $50 for a Stellate block with fluoro or less than $20 for an intercostal block with fluoro. Risky procedures with difficult patients for almost free vs some suit making serious $$$ for shaking hands and scripts. This system is so broken. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Thoughts On PreReqs
Hi Folks, I am currently a pediatric ENT NP with 3 years of working at a private practice under my belt. Since beginning this specialty practice I have become more and more frustrated about the lack of continuity of care that I am able to provide my patients. After diagnosing something that will require surgery, I find it very unfulfilling having to pause my care, send a patient for surgery with one of my docs, then take back over their post op care. Being able to treat patients throughout... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Non-clinical volunteering vs. tutoring classification
I’m finishing up my sophomore year and I’ve been volunteering one night a week this year with a service org that provides tutoring to people with low-literacy so they can pass their GED. A few of us students travel together to do this tutoring in an underserved area. I really enjoy this activity and find it to be meaningful. I planned to continue with this being my main non-clinical volunteering activity for the next 2 years and should have 300 hours at time of application. My concern is...
