Let me first preface this post my saying that I recognize that this may be a bit early to be making this post however as November approaches and that worry in the back of my head is starting to set it in I just wanted to know what my options are moving forward. Aspiring Clinical Pathologist

I am currently a 2nd year veterinary student and have unfortunately encountered a small rough patch in my life (diagnosed with MS, my mom having cancer, transferring vet schools) leading to my grades not being exactly where I want them to be. Update letter?
Are we considered late enough in the cycle that I should begin writing an update letter or letter of interest to schools I want to attend? I have seen lots of conflicting information about this, especially regarding pre-II letters of interests. Also is there a difference between interest letters and update letters (what if we want to do both in one, is this advisable?)

Update Letter
Hello all,
I just got news that a paper of mine has been published. I am hoping for some advice on if/when to send an update letter. I have 5 II (2 completed so far). I plan to send ann update letter to the two schools where I have already interviewed. If I apply early in the '24 cycle, is it possible to take a summer course?
Hi all, quick question- assuming that I submit as early as possible (May 30th, 2024), and that I will be applying to ~25-30 schools (mixed MD/DO), is it possible to take a summer course that runs 06/24-08/03? Timeline-wise, will I be receiving secondaries and have to focus completely on them in that window or is this doable?
