Plasmin Generation Potential and Recanalization in Acute Ischaemic Stroke; an Observational Cohort Study of Stroke Biobank Samples
This study will use historical samples from the Barcelona Stroke Thrombolysis Biobank, comprised of 350 pre-thrombolysis plasma samples from ischaemic stroke patients who received serial transcranial-Doppler (TCD) measurements before and after thrombolysis. The plasmin potential of each patient will be measured using the level of plasmin-antiplasmin complex (PAP) generated after in-vitro addition of rt-PA. M2 segment thrombectomy is not associated with increased complication risk compared to M1 segment: A meta-analysis of recent literature
Numerous trials report safety and efficacy of mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for infarcts involving the M1 segment of the middle cerebral artery (MCA; extending from the terminal bifurcation of the internal carotid artery proximally to the main bifurcation distally) in comparison to intravenous thrombolytic therapy (e.g. alteplase) therapy alone.1 –5 The Highly Effective Reperfusion Using Multiple Endovascular Devices (HERMES) meta-analysis of these early studies reported a number needed to treat of 2.6 for MT to reduce the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) by 1 point.

Dysphagia and disability in minor strokes – An institutional study
Ischemic strokes can be mild and non-disabling in around two third patients at onset.1 This is one of the major reason for delay in seeking medical attention, non-administration of thrombolytic therapy, incomplete evaluation and non-urgent initiation of secondary preventive strategies. Risk of early recurrence of neurological events is around 12%, with roughly half of them occurring in the first 48  h of onset.2 These strokes are not always associated with excellent outcome with short term disability ranging between 19% and 35% across various studies.

Intracranial Aneurysms After Intravenous Thrombolysis in Patient with Atrial Myxoma: A Case Study
We administered intravenous thrombolytic therapy to a 51-year-old female patient with a 101-min stroke onset. The patient was unconscious during the manifestation of symptoms. Computed tomography angiography examination of the intracranial artery at the time of admission suggested that the left middle cerebral artery was occluded. The patient regained consciousness after the intravenous thrombolytic treatment was administered. On an urgent cerebral angiography, it was revealed that the recanalization of the left middle cerebral artery was successful.
