Low Circulating Acute Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor Levels Are Associated With Poor Long-Term Functional Outcome After Ischemic Stroke Brief Reports
Conclusions— Circulating concentrations of BDNF protein are lowered in the acute phase of ischemic stroke, and low levels are associated with poor long-term functional outcome. Further studies are necessary to confirm these associations and to determine the predictive value of BDNF in stroke outcomes.

Acute Stroke Imaging Research Roadmap III Imaging Selection and Outcomes in Acute Stroke Reperfusion Clinical Trials: Consensus Recommendations and Further Research Priorities Special Report
Conclusions— Recent positive acute stroke endovascular clinical trials have demonstrated the added value of neurovascular imaging. The optimal imaging profile for endovascular treatment includes large vessel occlusion, smaller core, good collaterals, and large penumbra. However, equivalent definitions for the imaging profile parameters across modalities are needed, and a standardization effort is warranted, potentially leveraging the pooled data resulting from the recent positive endovascular trials.

Comparison of On-hour vs Off-hour Patient Cohorts at a Primary Stroke Center: Onset-To-Treatment Duration and Clinical Outcomes after IV Thrombolysis (S21.005)
CONCLUSIONS: We found no significant differences in OTT durations, stroke severity, or stroke outcomes between patients whose symptoms originated during on-hours vs off-hours. The objective of this study was to evaluate the Barrow Neurological Institute Screen for Higher Cerebral Functions (BNIS) in screening for cognitive dysfunction at long-term follow-up after stroke in young and middle-aged patients.
