Hypoxia-induced miR-497 decreases glioma cell sensitivity to TMZ by inhibiting apoptosis
Hypoxia is a common characteristic of rapidly growing tumors [1]. Hypoxic conditions induce many different types of physiological or pathophysiological responses, including high-altitude adaptation, stroke, wound healing, myocardial infarction, and cancer [2]. These changes are carefully controlled by a large number of hypoxia-inducible genes [2]. Among these genes, hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF1α) is the key transcription factor induced by hypoxia, increasing the expression of many genes that are involved in metastasis, tumor recurrence, and angiogenesis [3–5].

Endoscopic supraorbital eyebrow approach for the surgical treatment of extraaxialand intraaxial tumors.
Conclusions The endoscopic supraorbital eyebrow approach is a safe and effective minimally invasive approach to remove extra- and intraaxial anterior skull base, parasellar, and frontal lesions, promoting a rapid recovery and short hospital stay. Abstract 4058: Acid-sensing ion channel 1a (ASIC1a) contributes to cell proliferation and migration caused by acidic environment in human glioma cells
Conclusions: Extracellular acid reduces proliferation and migration in glioma cells. Extracellular acid induces death of glioma cells via ASIC1a mechanisms. These results indicate the presence of ASIC1a in glioma cells and may play significant role in glioma progression. Seizure reduction in a low-grade glioma: more than a beneficial side effect of temozolomide
Conclusions TMZ may contribute to an important reduction in seizure frequency in patients with LGG. Seizure reduction following TMZ treatment has prognostic significance and may serve as an important clinical outcome measure in patients with LGG.

Abstract Calcification is a rare phenomenon in high grade glioma (HGG). CT scans are sensitive to mineralization but used infrequently for tumor assessment in the MRI era. The presence of calcification can be overlooked on routine MRI.
